Tummy trouble.

Good evening ladies, hope you're all as well as you can be. I will phone for advice but wondered if this is part and parcel of paclitaxol and carboplatin . First line taxol and carbo (finished Dec 2019) I didn't have any tummy troubles ,this time ,first cycle last Friday ,I started with tummy pain ,mainly on left side but all over at times , very uncomfortable plus diarrhea (can't spell it ) ,worse after meals. Any advice welcome .xx

Hi. During frontline I had a couple of days each cycle of shooting pains in my pelvis and abdomen. Some people suggested it's the cancer being killed. However my side effects were delayed on that treatment. I was fine for four days and then on the fifth day I'd get the stomach pains. I didn't have diarrhea though--the opposite from all the odensatron. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Cheryl, sorry you’re having so much tummy pain with Taxol. I had my second infusion on Monday and pain in my right side just below my ribs has become extremely painful since Tuesday. The oncologist phoned today and prescribed Dexamethasone to be started tomorrow morning. He seemed to think it could be the Taxol working it’s magic. I really hope that’s the case for you too Cheryl.

It’ll be interesting to hear what your oncologist has to say tomorrow (Friday) Please let us know. I’m going to try to sleep now. I hope you feel much better tomorrow

Hey Angela. Good to hear from you. I have Covid and have been really unwell. I struggle to eat or drink and everything smells totally disgusting. They’ve taken me off the Rucaparib for 7 days so hope I can get back on it soon.

I had similar problems, diarrhoea at least 3 time a couple of days after the chemo, it always seemed to happen when my sister phoned, and I’d have to cut her off, she was beginning to get paranoid about it lol

I would call CNS just to put your mind at rest.

Hi, sorry to hear your unwell. I had terrible diarrhoea & was told to eat junk, no fresh fruit, coffee, chocolate etc by my CNS. Speak to your CNS to advice you x

Thanks Popmil ,I've phoned my CSN but she hadn't got back to me yet ,made the mistake of having veg soup and fruit yesterday ,trying to eat healthy diet , diarrhea has abated but my stomach feels awful ,very unsettled and I'm getting pain still especially round left rib area , ,didn't sleep last night so wiped out today ,thank you for the advice .xx

You poor thing just give the hospital a ring to make sure your alright, best to be safe than sorry. Just take care, hope your feeling a lot better very soon. Xx
