Had one treatment of carbo/caelyx 10 days ago, feel OK but having a vaginal bleed, bit worried, cant contact the specialist nurses at hospital as just on answerphone. Is this anything anyone else has had. This did happen once when I was first diagnosed prior to treatment, but not on carbo/taxol.

Having a bleed
Hi there, I am also on carbo/Caelyx and last one due this month. I’ve had every side effect but no bleeding. Not sure where you live but there are nurses you can speak with at the Macmillan support line and they are there today. X
At the hospital where I'm treated, the specialist nurses are contacted by ansaphone. But if patients leave a message, they normally ring back. I've had help that way. Perhaps your nurses would get back to you. Also Macmillan nurses or the Ovacome helpline. Di
Sorry to hear your worried, I've only had carbo/ taxol but I did have bleeding on and off during the first three cycles ,don't panic , I know its scary, leave a message on answer phone and your csn will get back to you .Hope you get some reassurance soon. Xx
Well I took myself to A & E yesterday as it had got worse! I spoke to Oncology first and they told me to go in. Spent 2 and a half hours in there, had a blood test and given tablets to take home. Hope this doesnt mean I will have to stop this chemo regime
Hi. Do you have low platelets? When I was on carbo caelyx my platelets tanked in the middle of each cycle and that can cause bleeding. I can’t imagine what kind of tablets they would give you? Did they think it’s an infection?
They are tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. My blood test was OK I think This was 10 days after first chemo, no infection
