Hi Ladies

Chemo went ahead as planned yesterday. Bloods very good, Lonquex injection seemed to work. All within normal levels except platelets which are high (490), but apparently this can be a side effect. CA 125 up from 301 to 468 but been told caelyx can do this after first treatment.

Got another injection to do this time later today. In agony with back pain for a couple of days afterwards but worth it for the results.

More chemo planned for four weeks time, scan a week after that.

Fingers crossed the caelyx is achieving something.

Two down, four to go.

Hope everyone keeping as well as possible.

Onwards and upwards!

Janet

Hi Janet - I’m starting Carbo & Doxil (Caelyx) the end of June for first recurrence. NP told me yesterday it’s not unusual for CA125 to not drop with this “chemo cocktail” till after 3rd infusion. How are you feeling after the first two infusions? Best thoughts to you!! Elayne

Hi Elayne

This is a third recurrence for me and have become carbo resistant.

Not too many side effects after first infusion. Usual constipation, bit of nausea but manageable.

Worst has been for 2 days after infusion. Given Lonquex injection to keep bloods up but suffered agonising pain in spine which lasted 2 days.

Started again now so hoping will only be 2 days again.

Did keep bloods up though!

Best of wishes with everything.

Janet
