Had 2 phone consultations today 1st with my Consultant Gynaecologist and then with my Consultant Oncologist. Results of CT scan showed no fluid, right ovary has shrunk, but left one has slightly grown, no other organs effected that they could see, MDT met yesterday and have decided that the next step is surgery, full debulking booked for 11th May unless anything changes in the mean time with Covid -19

Hi there that sounds like positive news xx are you half way through your chemo or has it finished? Lots of ladies have some chemo then the operation then more chemo. I had my op first but it seems to be local preference and on the scan results. How are you feeling about the op?

Hi Diane I have had 3 cycles of chemo so far. At the moment feeling ok about the op. They have said 5 nights in hospital, so the thought of no visitors may start to stress me out the nearer we get. Feel positive that thing are going ahead and not put on hold. When did you have your op?

Hi wendy i had mine in 2014 ad to be honest those 5 days go very quickly, the first couple i dint really want visitors as the pain killers made me lovely and sleepy. I also go chatting to other ladies on the ward and one of whom i kept in touch with as she had the same as me. They will look after you well and as hopefully others will tell you just do as you are told, find that inner strength and you will be back home before you know it. I think if anything its a good time to be going in to hospital x the virus is starting to wane and the cleanliness will never be better. I found the nurses and doctors were lovely and you wont feel like your alone xxx

Diane thanks for your reply I will be fine, just trying to get my head around no visitors, but things could change in 2 weeks. I'm positive that at the moment the op is going ahead, as I see some people have had treatment and ops cancelled or postponed so I am lucky

Hi Wendy sooner is always better than later.Remeber you can always FaceTime! Bring a small memento from them or have them wriTe you a card before surgery so you can open after.
Hope this helps. I have just had my last chemo will be on Avastin infusion for the next year and also in a study for a vaccine. I have stage 3 c serous carcinoma high grade. After surgery debunking markers are down to 4 in 6 weeks will have ct scan. Ask your OC if there are any studies that you can get into or recommend applying to .Have the,m save a part of the tumor as if you do get in one they will need it to develop the trial vaccine
Good luck you can do this one day at a time!

Full debulking surgery tomorrow. Got to be at hospital by 7am. Nerves alright at the moment, doubt if I'll sleep much tonight. Expect it will be emotional when my husband leaves me at the hospital doors and I wave him goodbye.
