My results are in ,online I can read them the letter is there .........I can’t bring myself too though ,I’m waiting for the consultant to ring me with them! Would you wait???
I’m tempted but maybe that would be silly as I could potentially read more or less
In to it ??? I hope she rings today else it’s going to be so tempting over the weekend !! I’m so scared of the results I feel sick to my stomach 😢

No I would open straight away, besides lets face it not opening the letter won't change the results, you may be pleasantly surprised. Good Luck x
Open it , knowing is always better ,you can start to come to terms with it then , also you'll be prepared for the phone call with questions to ask ,write down what you want to ask then you won't forget .
It may well be good news ,then you can celebrate ,rooting for you .xx
Like the others I would open it, the result will be the same (hopefully good!) and you will be prepared for questions on the call when it comes. Got everything crossed for you x
I was hoping mine would have been in before my oncoligist rang me, but he rang earlier than what was scheduled. Nothing much had changed tho from previous blood tests. Still not were I would of liked it to be tho so the feeling was the same..
I know just how you feel -my heart would be racing and I'd come out in a cold sweat. I used to get my husband to look!!! I am not so bad now - it's what it is, unfortunately.
I think you need to open it immediately, I know it requires being brave but it will give you a chance to see what's going on and then you will be able to ask the oncologist questions having had a chance to think otherwise you'll be broadsided when she rings. Take care and all the very best. Sue xx
I would feel the same as you in being torn between curiosity and hiding my head in the sand. My oncologist or labs do not send any results in a letter or through an online patient portal. I get a phone call with lab results and any CT or other tests results are given at a follow up Drs appt. I do ask for copies of lab tests and surgical results after that appointment and then I can research terms, etc, in more depth than my oncologist has time to go over with me. (He is frustratingly a quiet man) But in answer to your question, as they say, knowledge is power. Read the letter. Consider any questions you may have. Research your results of you aren't clear on what a medical term may be. Often, you will find its a lot LESS worrisome than you might have thought. Hugs!!
I agree with the others. You have nothing to lose by reading the results. And you will have a better conversation with the oncologist when she calls you. Sending positive vibes.
I agree with your other replies. Reading the letter will enable you to formulate any questions you might have. Whereas if you wait until your consultant tells you the results, certain questions may not occur to you until later.
