Could my cyst be cancer?

I had terrible periods my whole life. I was put on birth control to help.

I have always had pain and usually put it down to "IBS" as that was my only official diagnosis.

Recently the pain has been worse. I was checked to see if I had appendicitis because the pain was so bad. Last week the pain on my lower left side got worse. Again I thought it was just my normal cysts. (I have always had cysts on both ovaries. Fluid filled cysts. )

I was sent in for more testing and they found a large solid cyst on my left ovary which they want to further investigate and I am being fast tracked to a specialist. Also blood test CA125 which I googled and it is an ovarian cancer test. I am worried it may be ovarian cancer as the doctor seemed to think that might be a possibility even though he assured me that it is most likely benign. This week the pain is quite bad. My entire lower abdomen. But I also have pain in my legs. Chest, arms, just random body parts. Aches and pains and annoying tingles. Yes I am seeing a doctor. I was just looking for other stories, opinions, knowledge, help idk 🤷‍♀️

Medical history

I was diagnosed with IBS

Questionable IBD

Questionable Endometriosis (currently investigating)

I have Chronic Pancreatitis

I have chronic constipation

I had my gallbladder removed due to gallstones

I had a terrible car accident in 2009 where I very nearly died. It caused a lot of trauma to my abdomen. I had a lacerated liver, fractured ribs, my lungs collapsed, I nearly broke my neck, I was in a coma for 16 days.

I have had 4 natural labors. 2 miscarriages that resulted in d and c. So 6 total pregnancies.

I had my first child at 14. My youngest is 2. I am 31.

Thank you for any and all help ❤

Hello

Sorry to hear that you are in pain. I know it’s scary even to be tested for something involving the C word... but many of us have had the experience of being diagnosed late and the OC charities have made a point of trying to get medical teams to think about the possibility of OC in women with abdo symptoms in order to prevent late diagnosis.

So although this is scary... it is also good because those treating you will, with any luck, be able to rule out ovarian cancer.

I wish you the very best of luck, in the nicest possible way.., I hope you don’t need this group! xx

Please try not to panic until you know something. It’s good they are checking for OC. Most of us have symptoms for a long time before getting tested and then it’s very advanced. Also there are some less bad forms of OC that younger people get. But try not to worry until you get the results. OC is quite rare especially in younger women.
