Hi, have you been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and been given HRT?

Not ovarian cancer but I’ve had cervical and vaginal cancer and was recently diagnosed with womb cancer hense the hysterectomy and because of my history the decision was made to take my overaries as well so that’s why I’m on hrt

Oh I c. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I wonder if you would be better posing your question to a forum for cervical /vaginal cancer. This is for Ovarian and I was told I couldn't have HRT but that's not to say that there aren't ladies with OC who are on HRT and may reply. I wish you well xx Kathy XX

Hi Sorry the point I was trying to make is that with OC I don't think us ladies who have hysterectomys are given HRT as I was told it can fuel the cancer, so you may not find many ladies, if any, on HRT but I could be wrong!

Actually I am taking oestrogen gel and have ovarian cancer. I had a long appointment with a menopause specialist and decided the benefits of tackling my menopause symptoms would (for me) outweigh any theoretical risks related to OC - my tumours were not hormone driven and there is just no medical evidence either way. I have found it helped almost straight away with memory, hot flushes and joint pains. Whisking1 you should see a specialist if you can and discuss if it the right dose for you? Also other OC women I’d be curious to know if any of you are on hRt post treatment. Jane x

Although I had OC I was prescribed HRT by my oncologist but luckily didn’t take them ( after reading side effects).

Instead I take Fluoxetine ( prozac) which has been a God send.

Hope this helps xx

Hi. I am on HRT, as my cancer was not oesteogen related. Things got better within days when I got it, but I still get joint pain and am to try a higher dosage for a few weeks to see if it helps. Talk to your doctor, maybe you need a higher dose?
