Dear Fen,

I was very unwell during first line treatment of Carbo and Taxol and basically spent six months in bed, with terrible bone pain and paralysing fatigue.

I had two blood transfusions, several potassium and magnesium infusions and I was a wreck.

But it destroyed all visible signs of cancer ( including the midway debunking surgery).

They can lower the dose of taxol, which they did for me then and are doing now. That could help, but they say that Carboplatin does 90% of the work.

You are not alone.

Everyone is different though and some of us experience much more severe side effects than others.

Best wishes,

Laura

O bless you,

Its horrible to feel so ill, I have been on Taxol before with carbo , and just started Taxol on its own 2weeks on 1 week off.

Got to say I don't feel good I only had steroids at hospital none to bring home.

If you are not well you must go back it's not fair they should be able to make.you more comfortable.

God luck

Its lovely to get so much support ,thank you , I feel slightly better today ,was able to have a shower and get dry without sitting down , small steps .xx

Hi

I too had a bad reaction to Taxol and Avastin in 2017.

Ended up in hospital with low bloods but was discharged as told I had more chance of infection in hospital than at home.

Hope things continue to improve.

Best wishes

Janet

Yes dear Fend, I had first line Carbo and Taxol and I was so ill, ended up in hospital several times with infections and suffered terrible pain in my joints, as well as permanent nauseous, this was in 2013 and then I went into to remission for 4 years, so it all paled to insignificance. The last time I had Taxol in 2018, they reduced the dose and it made all the difference. Take care my dear, hope you are feeling better. Anne xxx
