Finally organized a trip to London with an appointment on Tuesday at the COC and then a trip to the Royal Marsden - not easy coming from Cornwall. I was all excited, but now feel a bit deflated - probably normal. Love to everyone here. Anne

I was at the Marsden yesterday, a very positive experience. We had a lovely walk from Waterloo to Chelsea and had lunch at The Ivy in Chelsea first. Well worth it as lunch was really lovely and I saw a famous actress who I cant remember the name of! Try and go if you can as its a nice little treat! xx

Dear Sticky,

Thank you for the idea of where to eat lunch and a nice walk, but Lindaura has suggested we meet up an Italian cafe near the Marsden - my hubby is Italian and I lived in Italy for 40 years and plus I get to meet Laura.

I will let you know how it goes - take care and a big thanks. Anne

Hey, Anne,

I am at the Royal Marsden all day Tuesday!

Do you think we could meet?

I get there at 10:45 for blood tests, Then my appointment and lots of waiting around, finishing around 12:30.

Then I go across the street, as I will be feeling pretty good by then, and have lunch in this amazing and prepossessing Italian Cafe called Cafe Roma. Perhaps you could join us.

I always have a companion with me now, but on the lower dosage of my trial drugs, I was a lot stronger this week.

I have my infusion at 2 or 2:30 and get out of there around 5:00 pm.

Did you get an appointment at the Royal Marsden?

Be great to meet up if possible.

Meanwhile, good luck with all your appointments!

Hugs,

Laura

Hi Laura,

Would love to meet up.

I have an appointment at 11.00am at COC and finish at 12.00, I checked on the time it takes to get to the Royal Marsden in a taxi and it is about 30 minutes so that would work just fine. My appointment with the Royal Marsden is at 4pm - so would love to join you at the Cafe Roma.

So glad to hear you are feeling a lot stronger.

A big hug. Anne

That’s amazing! I guess I should private message you with my mobile number.

So I will do that now. Usually we get lunch around 1:00, so that would work out, with no rush, but then you will have to kill time before your appointment!

Or join us in the Chemo Suite which they call the Medical Day Unit.

I shall private message you now.

Very exciting,

BTW, I meant I unprepossessing, the exact opposite of the Ivy.

Cheers,

Laura

It can be daunting can’t it! I went on the march with a million other people last week and found, as before, that once you are there you get energised. I even forgot I had cancer most of the day!

Dinner (very healthy veggie option of course) at the Hard Rock Cafe was great.

I can’t believe I used to commute there every day from Swindon.

I hope everything goes well and have lots of stops for coffee and

Nibbles in the many hotels where the prices are really not excruciating.

Love alex x

Dear Alex,

You are a brave lady, don't think i could have managed a crowd like that, but certainly need to take a break from this pain-in-the-ass illness.

Hope to enjoy this short break, whatever the docs have to say.

Will certainly take up some of your suggestions.

Thanks a lot my dear talk soon. A hug. Anne xxx

Good wishes for your trip Anne. Please can I ask what the COC is and how you go about getting an appointment at the Royal Marsden?

Vanessa.

Good morning Vanessa, The COC is the Care Oncology Clinic in London, working with repurposed drugs - talked about Jane McLelland's (think that is how you spell it) book on How to Starve Cancer and you need a referral from your doctor/oncologist for the Royal Marsden.

The COC needs medical records from your oncologist but not all oncologists are in accordance with the COC protocol but don't be put off - it is our life, our choices.

All the very best. Anne xx

Thank you Anne, I Googled it but wanted to make sure I had the right thing, have filled the form out. My oncologist is used to me pushing her in the direction I think my treatment should take. Yes.....my life my choice ....lost count of the amount of times I have said that.

Best wishes,

Vanessa.

How did you get on ? I’m getting all but the doxycycline on the NHS as I don’t think my onc will agree whereas he does ok the others because they can be justified (just about). I’ll try again in December and also want his view on melatonin which is another agnostic drugs which shrinks many tumours.

Yes my dear it went well, I received the medicine yesterday and will start tomorrow. Did you go to see the COC or talk to them on Skype? Let me know how it goes and I will keep you informed of how it goes.

All the very best. Anne xxx

I’m glad it went well. I haven’t gone to the COC at all as my onc was nervous about one of the people who set it up. I just read the book and persuaded my GP and onc to prescribe the drugs they felt comfortable with. I’m taking supplements and buying them and fenbendazole over the counter. I can get melatonin online too if he’s ok with it.

Wishing you luck and years of good health ahead.

Good on you. Keep me informed of how it goes my dear.

By the way, you say in your history that there is no trial out there for you - is this still the story, what about the Patriot Trial - I have to read more on it myself?

Wishing you the same my dear. Xxx
