So pleased to say I’ve started my treatment at last - I’m only have carbo as dr says that will be enough with it being preventative - I had a severe reaction to taxal the week before and was quite nervous about the carbo but totally different experience thank goodness - 5 more to go xx
Chemo started! : So pleased to say I’ve started... - My Ovacome
Chemo started!
So pleased your treatment has started, it’s a relief isn’t it when you feel like you’re taking positive steps in beating our cancer. Some people do have intense reactions to taxol but are able to have the carbo which is an excellent chemo drug in its own right.
There can be a cumulative effect from the carbo so any side effects will most likely increase but hopefully you’ll be one of the lucky ones with minimal side effects.
Take care, take the drugs they will give you and we’re all here to support you along the way. ❤️Xx Jane
I’m just have Carboplatin as well and I must say that the first 2 haven’t been as bad as I thought they would be. And I still have my hair. Good luck with your treatment x
My mum had carbo only and never recurred. Hope your treatment goes smoothly now.

Good luck for no more scares, Lavender. Hopes everything goes smoothly and the Carbo does the trick. I feel for you. I had a similar experience.
With 🤞 fingers crossed, Solange 😊XxX
Hope aĺl goes well..i had both carbo-Taxo..not sure which gives each side effect tho....but its only 6 sessions...you do get there.....dont do what i done tho...tried to carry on as normal as possible!! Crazy...sit back and relax while your going thro this..list ( in diary)everything you notice different..tell you oncologist next visit..they decide if side effect and give you stuff to help..i kept forgetting to write it down....all the very best during your treatment..stay positive...accept help if its offered...chill out..read watch TV..whatever you feel like doing...this is "me time"...💕💕😁😁
Good luck and I am glad you have an action plan in place xx Nicky
So happy for you that treatment has started. One step closer to getting better! Stay well and keep up with that positive attitude of yours. You will overcome this!

I also had a bad reaction to Taxol and had Carboplatin only. Comming up to 4 years post chemo and loving my life. Put your head down and look after yourself . As a good friend said. You have 1 job to do now go for it. Until this treatment finishes you have to put yourself first. It may sound selfish but you will be a better person for everyone if you keep as fit and healthy as possible during the treatment. ...for me this meant avoiding any infections, hand sanitisers everywhere, avoiding crowds, ( many outings missed...didn't care...I was doing my job) ,I did my 10 thousand steps daily towards the end this was broken into 3 short walks, most importantly I managed constipation...a side effect of antiemerics that's not talked about enough. I wish you all the best .
