Hello, All

We have been approached by a journalist writing for a national newspaper, who is in the process of putting together an article on the latest treatments for ovarian cancer. She would like to interview a few people who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the last 5 years and who have been treated with either Niraparib or Olaparib. It does not matter where you are based in the UK. Ideally, the newspaper would like to photograph the interviewee, however this is not essential. If you are interested in taking part, please call 0207 299 6658 or email media@ovacome.org.uk

Many thanks and best wishes

Hi Julia,

I am BRCA1 positive and have just stopped having the miracle drug Niraparib, which turned out to not be the miracle drug I was counting on.

I was on it for 5 months, with very few side effects, but my teeny bit of cancer managed to progress over that time.

I don’t want to depress people with this news - that even we BRCA Positive ladies can be PARP resistant.

Should I take part?

Kind regards,

Laura

I couldn't think of a better person to be interviewed than you Laura. Your advice is clear and to the point. I have been meaning to reply to your post so many times to wish you well. I was preoccupied with my own stuff and just never did. Now I'm waiting to be called in by my oncologist for my three month app with fingers crossed and hands joined!

X. 💚💕

I feel a bit torn, as I am doing really well on a Parp. But I was in the press quite a bit before, and alot went on to the internet. I could perhaps talk to them but it might not be the right time for me just now.

Hi Nicky

If now isn't the right time or you're at all unsure, please don't feel obliged to take part. It has to be what's right for you to do first and foremost. Thank you for considering it and taking the time to comment.

Best wishes
