I'm BRCA2 positive and have been on Olaparib for 3 months now. I've had issues with my kidneys due to this, pain in my ankles, calves and extreme abdominal pain, so have had to reduce the dose from 400mg to 200mg. Some days the abdominal pain is so bad I don't take the meds at all. Even taking Omeprazole beforehand doesn't help with the abdominal pain.
Has anyone else had these side effects or found relief from other sources?
My CA125 has been at 6 for the past 2 months, which sounds good, but I feel so unwell.
Regards,
K

Hi Ive been on Olaparib for just over 5 years 7 months (I too am BRAC2). My dose is 600mg per day. Fortunately I havent had any of the side effects you mention. What has your oncologist said, apart from reducing the dose? I wonder if there is another parp they can try which would work and give you a better quality of life. Also there is a facebook group 'Parp Inhibitors' which might be a good place to pose your question. I which you all the best. Kathy xx
