Hi lovely ladies, just to let you know that I've had my CT scan results and it shows no sign of any cancer. Been clear now since February 2014. It does show gallstones though so if anyone has any advice on that I'd be glad to hear it.
Hope all is going well with everyone, Zena xx

What fantastic news!! I am soooooo pleased for you. Time to celebrate. My sister had gallstones and she was given some icky liquid that dissolved them and she passed them naturally. I think treatment depends where the stones are, and what size? Good Luck xx
You have been clear for over 5 years now and I just hope my body follows your example.
Meanwhile, gallstones can be composed of different substances and it would be good to know what kind yours are.
If you have no symptoms, you don’t need to do anything, but if you are having painful attacks from the gallstones, you can get them treated or have your gall bladder removed.
I have one very large gall stone that I have had for 50 years as a result of a blood disease. It is a pigment gallstone.
Mine is too large to get caught in a bike duct so it has caused me no trouble.
I've no idea about my gallstones the letter just said they were not causing my pain as they're on the opposite side. They're not causing me any problem but I don't want them. Perhaps I eat too much yogurt. It's certainly not down to fatty food. xx
So happy for you Zena--I know they don't use the 5 year mark anymore for OC but hey, I LOVE that you hit the 5 year mark and continue with NED!!! Hope you are celebrating this weekend and on! ENJOY!!!! oxox Judy
Its definitely a milestone but for some reason with OC, I have read its longer before they can say you're "cured". For you and me, I say you hit the mark!!! ox
Thank you. I would be unaware too. I'm not 100% that they're right. They told me I had a secondary cancer in my spine after one scan and then changed their minds. xx
I am going for the 5 year marker on Sept 1st, to my mind it when they drop you to a 1 year check, good for me. I plan something, so should you...you have done so well, we all aspire to that,
Lovely news Zena. 🎈Have a fabulous weekend. Don’t worry about the gallstones if you’re not having any pain or nausea. Lots of people may well have them but just don’t know. Congratulations 👏🏼 Cheryl x
Thanks Cheryl. I'm not worried really just wondered if there's anything I could do in the way of eating etc. to get rid of them. Then again I wouldn't know if I had got rid of them because I didn't know I had them. lol xxx
Well done, Zena. Excellent news! Yay!!!!! 😀 And a new dog. Good for you! 🐶
I also have gall stones and they were present at my diagnosis. When they operated they took a look and said they were no problem so left them in situ. I have experienced no pain at all from them. I guess many people develop gall stones through their their life time and are totally unaware!
Thanks Neona, I don't think they're overly worried about the gallstones as they haven't suggested anything to do about them. I'll just see how it goes. xxx
So pleased for you, Zena. 👏 You must be so happy. Now you can try and forget OvCa - and the flipping gallstones, hopefully, and look forward to getting your dog and having fun with him.
Thanks Lesley, we've just got back from our visit to the Dog's Trust. We're getting a bit nervous now because we're worried he won't settle in. Just like first night nerves I think. xx
I remember when I got my mine , 3 years on they rule the roost ha! I am sure he will soon settle in its all so strange the 1st night , you will all be fine xx
Hi Zena , just seen your post . Think we are chemo twins! . I too was diagnosed 6 years ago this month , 3c, had weekly icon 8 chemo using a cold cap and unexpectedly tested positive for BRCA 2 - from my father , with no known family history of breast or ovarian cancer ( but didnt know much about his family ) We have both been so lucky to have had such a good response to chemo - long may the NED remain for us both ! Carry on living life to the full 😊Zena , best wishes , Hilary xx
Thanks Hilary, we certainly are twins. Our only difference is that I was diagnosed in July but otherwise it's like reading my own story. Long may it remain that we can keep swapping our stories of good news. xxx
