Hello everybody from sunny north wales.. Mum finally got her genetics result and it’s negative so me and my sister wont need to be tested! This is a big relief for us all!
It’s been such a worry and took 18 weeks!
Mum’s recovering brilliantly after her operation and there was no disease on appendix after all! My dad misunderstood on the phone! oh dear!
Soon to restart chemo !
Thank you for listening and support xxxxxx

That's great news, Claire. A big relief for you - and your Mum. I was dreading I would be positive and have to worry about all my big family. Thankfully I was negative.
Good luck to your Mum with her next treatment. Love to you all, Solange😊
Hi Claire - it was your post! Good news about the negative result. It was a relief for us too. So good that your mum is receiving well. It's amazing to see the huge scar after the op isn't it. I couldn't believe how many staples mum had up her front and how long it took the nurse to take them all out! Bless your dad - he probably misheard and he's sure to have information overload!
Best wishes to your mum on her continuing chemo. Hope the side effects don't last too long.
I had colon cancer. My dad and his brother both had it. Two of his sister's kids (my cousins) had it. On my mom's side, there was also colon, pancreatic, skin and esophageal cancer. Some of these such as skin cancer are related through the same gene I was told. I was extremely worried about my daughter. My test that I waited 6 months for came back negative. I almost fell off my chair. I would have sworn that I had the gene.
