Scared ......

I was diagnosed in june 2017 with PPC/Ovarian cancer. Had the standard treatment/debulking and a stoma due to a bowel perforation. I’ve been in remission since November 2017 - it’s been a bumpy ride though - possible lung lesions and stoma blockages. I recently had what I thought was a UTI and went to my Gp. Gp tested urine and I had blood and white cells so referred to urology. I had a procedure last week and they have now found a growth in my bladder. I am now awaiting a biopsy and I’m so scared again. Has anyone else had anything similar please or can anyone offer any advice. Thank you.

...........so sorry you are having to go through another scary diagnosis, but try to hang in there, it might not be a cancerous growth at all. Easier said than done I know but try to keep busy until you get the biopsy results, don't wait any longer than absolutely necessary, chase them on the phone for the results. Wishing you the best possible outcome. xx

I have to have the biopsy done under general anaesthetic so awaiting appt. I’ve chased them today but no date yet. To top it all I had a tooth pulled out on Monday and I’m in agony. On antibiotics for infection but it’s really painful 😢

in reply toEriksendi

😢 I really hope you get your appointment very soon, keep chasing them. Good Luck xx

So sorry to hear this . I’m in the same position. Had a cystoscope done two weeks ago , he said my bladder looked ok except for a small spot of inflammation, which like yourself will be done under anaesthetic. I got my date for that today .The 7th of July !!!Thats supposed to be urgent. So what happened to the two week wait . It all seems to much doesn’t it . If I was prepared to pay 1800 pounds I could have it done next week .

Thinking of you

Oh Sheila - I’m so sorry to hear this. I had my scope done on Friday and he said it’s a mucosal growth/lesion and only a biopsy will tell if it’s cancerous. Let’s hope they get a cancellation and can bring it forward. I’ll let you know when I get my date. Let me know how you get on and I sincerely hope it’s nothing for you x x x

I’m just reading what the urologists letter says ...normal urethra . Small area of red mucosa on right posterior wall .

Follow up admit for GA cystoscope and biopsy . So sounds like you. I’ve just about had enough of this lot xxx

Eriksendi profile image

Mine says mucosal growth vs nodule? At base of bladder. My follow up says the same. I’ve had enough of this too. X x x

Forgot to say I had a ct scan of kidneys and bladder on Monday (I have a kidney stone ) . So waiting for that to come back .will let you know how I get on . In the meantime let’s try to stay strong together. Very hard though.🤞🤞🤞🤞

I got my date today - Sunday 19 May

That’s great news . Went to my gp this morning to get his opinion on it . He said sometimes you can get small warts in your bladder, that show up as inflammation. The biopsy will define what it is . Not long to wait for you now . Good luck . Let me know how it all goes . I’ll be thinking of you .

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this scary junk again. I don't know what PPC/Ovarian cancer is. I don't know this term, I was diagnosed with stage 3c clear cell ovarian cancer. I did IP, intraperitinel chemotherapy. Also called stomach wash chemotherapy. It adds a lot of time. Between reoccurring cancer. I will pray that this is not a reoccurance. I was diagnosed in April 2014. Prayers for good news. ❤❤Liz

PPC is primary peritoneal cancer that normally originates in an ovary or a tube. It is treated the same as ovarian cancer. Thank you for the prayers x x

My reoccurrence was in the vaginal vault, unfortunately when the surgeon went to remove the tumour it was stuck to the bladder wall, he removed the upper vagina and some bladder muscle.

I have had an indwelling catheter for urine retention for the past year and get on with it very well.

I’ve already got a stoma don’t know if I could cope with a catheter as well but guess it’s not a choice. I’ll just need to get my big girl pants back out of the draw again x x

In1994 I had high risk chemotherapy for a womb cancer with secondary tumors on my lungs. I made a full recovery but 25 years later I was diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer. I have hair extensive chemotherapy and surgery but I'm still struggling. The link my consultant thinks is the chemotherapy I had the first time round.

Hello. I haven't but I feel for you. I send my love and prayers to you. I understand that fear, I had ovarian cancer last year with debulking surgery and I am terrified the cancer will come back. Talking to people helps, I've joined some support groups and the Macmillan support centre are wonderful, have you looked into this? If not, please do.

All the best to you - Jayne.

So sorry you find yourself going through this again. I haven’t had anything in my bladder so cannot helps there. I was a year in remission when mine came back in my spleen so Ian back on chemo again. All I can say is you can get through this, there are days when you think why me after everything I have been through, but then you do just get on with it.

Sending you lots of love 💕 hugs 🤗 and positivity xxxx

I am so sorry you are going through this. The worry will get to you before you know what's up. It is tiring. Focus on getting that appointment and try as you possibly can to take breaks from the worry.......you need answers though. Wishing you speedy answers and hoping its nothing that will keep you worrying. Sending hugs. oxox

I am so sorry you are going through this- the waiting is terrible but at least they are on to it. I have a new possible lesion on my lungs but it is not known whether it is cancerous or not- apparently benign thingies are common. Fingers crossed .

Eriksendi profile image
Eriksendi in reply toNeona

I had a lung lesion appear on my scan last summer. It went to the lung team and they thought it could be an infection. I was treated with steroids and antibiotics and after a follow up scan it had shrunk and was barely visible. Hope yours turns out the same way x x

I haven’t had anything similar but feel for you. Just keep pestering your oncologists nurse and hopefully you will get a speedy appointment.

Hi, I know how scary it is, i was diagnosed same year as you almost the same , i had debulking and six carboplatin followed by 3months remission. My c a 125 was only ten everything looked good untill my 3month check and a nodule in vagina was found , i had it removed todays later then followed by six rounds of doxerubin . It is ongoing but i'm still here and enjoying life. you will deal with this like before its always the waiting then you know and can deal with it. Sending you my support and love and if you want to message me that's also fine . remember we are all in this together .
