I’ve been told a test for ovarian cancer is borderline yet 2 years ago was negative. Should I be worried? I have had a cyst for at least 6 years no problems

Hello- is this a ca125 test? It may be that it is showing a higher level than before (over 35). This on its own is inconclusive- but you should ask how they will monitor you going forward- are they going to test again? If you had two or more blood tests showing an increase in ca125 level or if it stays high and doesn’t return to normal then further investigation might be done. It’s not a yes or no test but a trend. Keep pushing for answers- hopefully it’s nothing to worry about xx

My original ca 125 test was 16 but 2 years later I was diagnosed with stage 3c clear cell ovarian cancer with ca125 of 67. Originally I did not have the symptoms to qualify fir a scan- just wish I had paid for one. However there are many reasons ca 125 could be raised including infections. Insist on thorough investigation.

Request an ultrasound. It is a painless test and will show any abnormally in the size and shape of your ovaries

Im afraid....sometimes an ultrasound is not sufficient to detect a any serious findings. O would suggest you immediately ask for a Ct scan. This is my experience.

The consultant is arranging a ct scan. So there’s still chance it could be cancer? I’m scared
