Greetings ladies from the lovely Maldives. Well I never thought I would fly long haul again, and I was so apprehensive about it, but here we are in beautiful Baros. I hesitate to post this as so many are having tough times, but hopefully it will give you ladies courage to make the most of feeling well between treatments. My bloods were low so my team lowered my dose of Olaparib down to half while I’m away. The sea is beautiful and full of colourful tropical fish, the odd friendly shark and turtles with names, and the sand is almost white. I’ve eaten fruit I’ve never seen before, had dinner by candle light on the beach and done yoga on a deck overlooking the sea. It has been so worth the long flight! Sending you all love, and before you get too fed up and envious, I’m home in a couple of days for those lovely blood tests🙄🤗. Sophia xx

Dear Sophia,
This is a great turn of events, which means that you were fortunate to get Olaparib and it seems to be working for you!
Your holiday sounds idealic and makes us all slightly envious, but mostly delighted for you.

It looks and sounds wonderful. Enjoy xxx
Beautiful pic. Like the sound of yoga by the sea.
So nice to see your having a lovely time. It just shows we can go on holiday in between treatments. I've been to California last December then to hong Kong & Philippines for almost 4 weeks last month. Enjoy yourself, and take care. Xxx
Lovely picture How wonderful to be there . Enjoy every moment.
I was diagnosed in 2015 & 3c like you . Now on Niraparib . You give me confidence to plan a long haul trip . In Bruges af the moment.

Joy to hear have fun
Wow great photo and sounds amazing, especially the yoga. I’ve done several trips to Spain, Italy and Budapest but haven’t been brave enough yet to do a long haul. The shock of being taken ill and diagnosed whilst on holiday in Mauritius hard to get over. Not sure I’ll ever be able to look at a palm tree on a beach again without bursting into tears. Although I used to think I’d never get on a plane again, which I’ve now done several times, so I might surprise myself. Silly really because if I hadn’t been taken ill I probably wouldn’t be here now so I should be dancing round the palm trees.
I’m at the coast in Dorset today, gale force winds and even the dog refusing to go out!
Well done for doing the trip you are an inspiration. My husband might find this could be an expensive year for holidays LOL
Enjoy and stay well
Love and best wishes Kim x 💜
Great Kim, ask him to start saving up now. Please don’t be put off by your bad experience in Mauritius, that’s in the past now. Besides I think this place might have magical healing properties. If the happy people are anything to go by, it might be true. The gentle pace of life is a tonic and eating the healthy exotic food , mostly vegetables, fruit and fish, must be good. And marvelling at that wonderful life under the sea. Keep well. 🐡🐠💕x
Glad you're having a fantastic time. I also went to the Maldives during my treatment and it was one of the best holidays I every had. Enjoy. Love Zena xx
I haven’t messaged on here before. I was feeling a little down today, I think because I am tired, but reading your post gave me a real boost......thank you xx
Just stunning! Enjoy every moment, good luck for the blood tests lovely ❤️Xx Jane
Thanks so much Jane, sad to be leaving the islands today and facing up to reality again, but looking forward to seeing our two dogs. 🤗
Wow. I too was diagnosed in 2015 with 3c ( ‘anniversary this week!) so just shows how we can all be so different - I still haven’t got on holiday and am struggling right now with pain so unlikely for some time! But it’s so good to see and hear for so many who are new to this site it must give hope to many that there can be a good side and ‘ living with cancer’ is a possibility! X
Hi Hopefulgal, thanks so much for your lovely reply. I am sorry you are having a tough time at the moment. It’s so hard to know what to do for the best, and so often different diets/treatments/clinics rely so much on funding. I went to a Swiss Clinic this time last year on the brink of recurrence, had lots of tests but wasn’t well enough to try the treatments on offer. Please keep trying, don’t give up. Sending you love xxxx
Thankyou so much SCWI - I don’t think I’ve given up just feel shocked by the meeting today. It’s hard to gind the right clinic etc that may be ethical and really doing things that are working! I am so glad you found somewhere but sad that you’ve been too unwell - perhaps we can message privately if you believe there is something else out there!? Many thanks T x
Wow, what a fabulous place to celebrate being alive! I’m so glad you tolerated the long haul flight well-the destination was certainly worth it! Long may the healing vibes stay with you 🐠🌞🏝!

Thanks for your lovely reply Christine. Back home now to reality! Happy memories in the bank. Xxxx
