HiMost although not all ladies here are treated through the NHS in Britain. Treatment is generally free (prepaid through general taxation) so do not have to worry about payment. Some treatment options are not available and if they are wanted some ladies self fund. You sound as though you reside outside of the UK and have the medical insurance route. What did you have to pay for that your insurance would not cover?

One lady here did try the “go fund me” route on the internet. I believe that there was enough to fund 2/3 treatments not offered on the NHS.

I suspect the cancer charities use there money for research and education rather than fund individual cases.

Best wishes

Fay

I live in the US and have insurance. Are you in US? The non insurance part does run up quickly however. I've found that calling the hospital billing area and making arrangements to pay an amount monthly has worked out. Also some hospitals have social workers or patient advocates that can help navigate the system. Also always check your bills carefully, they were charging me $300 for blood work each time when it was suppose to be not more than $20 with my insurance. In that case the insurance company advocated for me and got it straightened out. There are hardship arrangements that can be made.

Yes we are in states and have BCBS but amount after insurance is now over 50k. Good idea to get itemized copy of bill!
