Pain free (almost)

Hello my lovelies- wishing you all a happy New Year.

Since my debulking op in August 2017 I have had a jj sonde (catheter) in my left ureter which had been affected by the cancer. It was changed last September after I complained about the constant burning- sadly it was worse after the change.

Yesterday it was removed and the joy of being pain free is indescribable. The urologist gave a 50/50 chance of the pain going away or getting worse, there’s also the chance my dodgy kidney will fail, but you know what I’ll take my chances.

Within minutes of its removal, not a pleasant experience but not as bad as I’d feared I realised I couldn’t feel it and my cystitis pain was gone.

It’s been so debilitating and I’ve been living on a cocktail of painkillers to keep things at a bearable level.

So no pills last night, but my hip niggled- note to self remember the ibuprofen gel!

Sending you all my warmest wishes

Joy x

Fantastic news! I’m so glad. I had kidney uretetic stents removed a couple of months ago and was so relieved instantly. The pain is debilitating. I hope you remain pain free

Thumbs up, Joy. You have my deepest sympathy as I now have an irrational dislike of all urologists, after they fitted me with stents, even though it was nowhere near as long as you had to endure yours. But I ended up seriously grumpy and growling at the head of urology there to take those bloody things out or else. 😉

Fingers crossed all involved organs read the company guideline and will keep working as planned. You must be truly chuffed to get rid of the discomfort. All the best. Maus

Thanks Maus , the relief was instantaneous . I know that it was there for a reason but enough was enough. I first told him it burned all the time last May and got a Gallic shrug, I could have swung for him.

Just happy to feel normal 🤪
