Hi Loren. Ive been on Olaparib for nearly 5 years and not had this. However when I was on Cederanib my hair thinned and I used natural hair fibres to improve the look. Might be an option ? Kathy xx

Thankyou Kathy, I honestly don't think it is the Olaparib , it seemed to thin whilst I was on caylex, mind you I have only finished in July ! So I'm probably expecting too much too soon 😁 ... Hope you are keeping well

Hi Loren I’ve used this whilst having cold cap treatment and it seems to work but who knows really! You can get it on amazon

Hi Loren,

I’ve been taking supplements called Nourkrin that my friend recommended, her mum has alopecia and she said it helped her hair grow back in places and she was delighted with the results. I’ve been taking it for about 9 weeks now and my hair is fully back and seems thicker than before, and my eyelashes and eyebrows seemed to come back quite quickly too (after chemo).

Not sure if it would be growing at the same rate without them but they’re worth a try! I paid £70 for 3 months supply on eBay and I got a free shampoo and conditioner with them too, you take 2 tabs per day.

Good luck!! Xx 💖

Thankyou Liz, yes I had a look at the Nourkrin, will check with my onc team that they are OK to take along side the Olaparib

Hi. My hair thinned a couple of months after a big op last Novembert. Itis still thin now, though I have tried various serums and shampoos etc, nothing really helped. I took iron tablets which seemed to slow down the fall out in the plug post shower, so might be worth trying.

Try Nioxin it’s amazing, you can buy it on line

Hi Lorent. When I was on Caelyx, I asked my onc about hair-loss. He said I'd probably lose about 10%. I don't think it was that much. No one noticed but me. Best wishes. Pauline.

My hair thinned on chemo then after, it left some very thin "patches" that I cover with something called "Gray Away" which is a powder that I just pat those areas with and it looks like I have solid hair there. It covers gray but I use it to cover scalp!!! amazon.com/Gray-Away-Tempor...

When I was on steroids for polymyalgia many people recommended biotin shampoo or argan shampoo. However I lost about half my hair when using the cold cap and since have only used baby shampoo and Simple conditioner. My hair has grown back thick and curly so you may just need to wait though biotin shampoo just adds collagen I think so probably won't do any harm. Some people took biotin supplements but you would need to ask your oncologist first.

Two suggestions: How about a biotin supplement such as in Hair Skin and Nails? Also my acupuncturist has a needle point on my scalp that's supposed to stimulate the scalp and encourage hair growth. I lost my hair on taxol but it grew back thick and curly. Then thinned on Doxil.

Hi All, I am new to Ovacome and I too wondering about my hair. I am BRCA1 first diagnosis BC in 2004, Ovarian 2016 and now Mets of Ovarian to colon. Just got off combo Carbo/Doxil and my hair is super thin, patchy thin, often I wear my wig. I'm now on Olaparib and wonder if my hair will ever grow again? After 15 years with this disease being bald off and on again, I was hoping to perhaps get some thickening or growth back. Would love to know if anyone has had growth while on Olaparib. I'm so happy to have found this community. I'm Stage 4 now and realize there will not be one day that I won't have to fight this going forward, I'm happy to have found others who can relate. God bless every one of you :)

I finished Carbo+Gem+Avastin in March. I lost 80% of my hair. I’m on Olaparib for the past two months and my hair is growing back. It’s thin and slow to grow but it’s improving a little all the time and I’ve no bald patches.
