Yes ladies, hair! I just thought I would let those of you that are about to embark on the hair loss journey or those that are just out the other side this is just on 2 months out from final Chemo! Even better than the last time I posted and I am convinced it's in part at least due to the Manuka Honey head massages! Would highly recommend them, not only do they promote hair growth but they are wonderfully relaxing and a great treat!!!!
Eyebrows are doing really well too need to get them seen to as they are growing back all over the place!!!!
Hope this gives some solace to those feeling the pain of hair loss!!!!
Onwards and Upwards!!

Hi , am in the growing season as well. I finished chemo at the beginning of January and I have now got a full head of hair. It has come back white, I wasn,t expecting that I did expect it to come back grey so white was a surprise and it is very curly. I never lost my eyebrows which remain dark brown. No regrowth under the arms or on the legs so that is a saving on razors. My pubs have also come back.
I have decide to go for an Annie Lennox look not look like her, I should be so lucky, but to have my hair like her. Go a bit bohemian ,why not. Happy growing to those who are in that position
Currently at the same stage - it's exciting, isn't it? I'm also watching 'Have I got news for you' at the moment and delighted to see my hair is now longer than Ian Hislop's!
Hi Dee, how fantastic is that, I should have a date on Monday for chemo to start any tips you can give me would be great, how often did you do manuka massage? I will definitely give it a go,
Interested in the Manuka honey massage do you do it yourself or a therapist? I lost 60per cent of my hair after the first dose of carbo/taxol. I decided to have it cut really short to a centimetre length a week later...As it turns out I was allergic to taxol and 8 weeks later will resume carbo only (I believe carbo doesn't affect your hair too much. ) So there was no need to cut my hair so soon. ππAnyway I got an amazing wig better than my own hair ...it's really comfortable to wear now that I have hair regrowth and it will be good to have in the future when I have a bad hair dayπ
I loved reading your post. I had a complete hair freeze even though I didn't lose any. Today I realise I have been ignoring leg hair and closely resemble a gorilla. Time to brave a bath with my colostomy I think.
May your hair continue to grow at speed, and may my leg hair not lol
Go armed with questions (I write mine down), make sure you are 100% happy with the answers. Don't get dragged in to stuff you don't want ... An onco at the hospital where I'm being debulked tried so hard to push HIPEC . I was nearly sick when he merrily showed me photos of the cancerous insides of a woman on who he had performed the surgery the day before. Pics were on his phone, if you please! Basically trust your instinct. You've been in the position before, you know what is right. And you certainly don't need me to tell you π. Prayers and positive vibes for a good CA 125. Let me know how you get on if you like. Take care. Xxx
There is a young girl over here in Ireland who was diagnosed with OC when she was 24. She has a blog called survival with style which is brilliant! She recommended the honey massages they are part of a suite of therapies for chemo patients that are designed specially and offered in certain places if they have the training. She talks about it at the link below. I have had 3 so far and find them fab I really think they have helped with the hair too! Luckily for me they are offered in a Spa in Galway which isn't far from where I live. I have tried to paste in the link but it won't work so Google survival with style and the blog will come up, search on the blog for Manuka and it will come up. There are lots of interesting things on there too!
Lorent have you heard about the look good feel better courses? They are great and happen all over the place have a look at them too!
Hi D thanks for sharing, glad to see the hair is growing, I got massages in the hair dressers when it was long enough to be styled and it certainly helped the quality. I never tried the Manuka massages though. I used Boots own hair skin and nails on recommendation for three months and since my hair had thinned, it also made a huge difference. The nails got better a little and I use Sally Jensen nail hardener,
I've seen it advertised on the TV for hair loss but waiting till I finish this line next month.....
I'm desperate for my eyebrows to come back and as the moment I don't have a 'full stop' to my face and if you took a black and white of my head I'm sure it would look like a bowling ball!
