Feeling a little down

Hi ladies, on Friday i started my mop up chemo after my TAH and debulking. It seems so much harder this time than the previous 4 sessions of carbo/ taxol. I’m so tired and sick, the heartburn is new and unpleasant and I am getting sharp stabbing painful in my tummy. Strange that as there is nothing left in there to hurt. I’m also constipated so that doesn’t help. Sorry to moan when I know lots of you are going through things a lot tougher than this. any ideas that might help me through the next few days would be very appreciated. Big hugs to all xx

Hi You've just had a major op and chemo is cumulative so no wonder you are feeling down! I remember feeling exactly how you are feeling right now and lots of other ladies here will too so never apologise for moaning or ranting. With regard to feeling sick it's worth giving your chemo team a call to make sure you are on the right sickness meds. Feeling sick will make you feel so low. As to feeling tired, the best remedy for that is rest, rest and more rest! Believe me when I say listen to your body, you will benefit. Do what you feel you can but do not push yourself beyond what you feel you are able to do. I know it doesn't feel like it now but thinks will improve. Just now, in the moment be kind to yourself and rest xx Big Hug. Kathy xx

Hi. I imagine your body is weakened by the double whammy of surgery and chemo thus making you feel so tired and sick. I had the shooting abdominal pains in my first chemo-I had surgery first. Tomorrow is my second chemo. I had the pains days 5 and 6 but then they mostly went away. Some people think they’re the chemo mopping up cancer cells. I hope you feel better soon!💕

Oh yes..those last chemos are the pits. Your body is just beginning to congratulate itself for surviving surgery and then it’s hit with the chemical cosh! I remember having quite a few duvet days but in recovery week I began to plan what I would do after chemo.... it kept me going and very soon chemo was done! xx

Here. Let me give you a hug of support. You'll get over this soon.

Meanwhile, call your team or your GP. Constipation needs immediate attention.

Sharp, stabbing pain? On a pain scale of 1 to 10, you should likely speak to the team about this.

Try to get some rest and drink plenty of water.

Hi all, I have called and they have asked me to increase the movicol I was taking to see if this helps. I’m also changing my sickness meds to help it ease as well. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it xx

You have had a major op so are bound to feel tired. I slept a lot during the day for The first 5 weeks and spent all my time on the sofa watching The Crown and Supervet. Take it easy and I hope the new drug regimen works for you. xx
