Looking For Belly Massage Instructions From the Christie

Hello lovely ladies. I'm wondering if any of you know the 5-minute belly massage instructions that you can get from the Christie? I saw it mentioned in their booklet "Your Guide to Coping with bowel Obstructions." If anyone could share, I'd appreciate knowing how to do this! Thanks so much.

I don't know the instruction given by the Christie but I have a little trick which seems to work. Make two fists and GENTLY tap your tummy, as if you are using your fists alternatively on a drum, from right to left starting down by your appendix, coming up to just above the belly button, going across to the left and then going down the other side. In other words you are tapping your colon in the direction that the poop travels. Do this for a couple of minutes but if there's any pain stop immediately. Once you have done that lay on your back and lift your knees to your chest a few times. Use your hands to help if you need to. Then things should start to shift. If you prefer, instead of using your fists gently massage your colon in the same direction as above. xxx

Thank you. I hope this will help! I need to try it to get the instructions straight. Just seeing it on paper sounds a bit confusing, but I'll get on to it.

Oops! It looks as if I've been doing it in the wrong direction all these years. Still works though. Best to do it the correct way. Hope the link helps xxx

I’m sorry I can’t find this, I've been all around their website. If you give them a call on 0161 446 3000 and ask for the leaflet they may be able to send one to you, I wish I’d known you needed this, I was only there a few days ago and could have got one for you and scanned it to you. I did find one post on google that recommends circular massaging in a clockwise direction around the belly button to help keep things moving.

If you manage to locate the information let us know, I’m sure there are lots of us who could benefit.

Take care ❤️Xx Jane

It's funny that the Christie didn't include the instructions in the booklet. So many people would benefit!
