Chemo Again

Started back on chemo Sept 2017. Took 9 infusions of Taxol and cancer continued to grow and spread. It's progressed from 3c to stage 4 now. Have taken 2 infusions of Doxil. Had to cut down on dosage because of side effects. My CA125 is higher than at diagnosis 10/15. Having a scan this week. Hoping for some good news but I know I'm in the Lord's hands and it's up to him, not me. Hope everyone is getting better. I'm in 2 support groups thru Facebook and haven't checked this one in a while. Be patient with me please.

Side effects are getting worse. I have hand/foot itch, joint pains, constipation, nausea, diarrhea and stomach upset. Doc gave meds for all but this itching is driving me up the wall!

That's a tough spot you're in, Jenny. Fingers crossed for a positive trend being revealed in the scan. Maybe it takes a few more chemo doses though to start being effective, or maybe you need a different chemo (or a trial drug) instead?

Have you seen a dermatologist about the itching? I suffered from very itchy scalp pustules during my chemo, so can sympathize. Spraying on some non alcoholic skin disinfectant every now and then brought a bit of relief for me.
