Just want to know if anyone has taken Cisplatian after Avastin?
My friend needed to stop taking her 1st line and moved to Avastin for the last few months ( maybe 3). Now her CA 125 is at 1700 and she just started taking Cisplatin.
Any ideas-workds of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there sorry about your friend, it would appear that different doctors in different countries have various protocols. It would help if there was a one treatment for all but we are all different. I wish your friend well on the new drug, unfortunately I have not had this one yet.
Hi, I was on avastain and it stopped working. I am starting cisplatin next Monday , I live in ireland. We will be able to help each other along on our journey. Stay positive .
Hi, yes Ive had cisplatin. I have to say its harsher than carboplatin but totally doable and it 'did the trick' for me twice, the first time I swapped from carboplatin to cisplatin on cycle 3 after having an allergic reaction to carbo, then for my second recurrence I again had cisplatin and after 3 cycles I was NED, though I continued to have all 6 cycles. Tell your friend not to suffer with nausea, make sure she gets her antisickness meds sorted. I ended up on cyclizine, the only thing that helped xx Good luck to you friend xx Kathy xx
I have had 5 lots of cisplatin as part of the Rotterdam regime (see my profile) - it is working. Well covered with anti-sickness meds. It makes me very exhausted and gives a nasty, dry mouth, but apart from that I've coped and, more importantly, it is working!
