The female London Surgeon
Hi I haven't had contact but I have been speaking with one lady (not on this forum) who says she is amazing and is like a 'best friend'. Also Nicky100 saw her (and was on the BBC2 Hospital programme being operated on by her. Might be worth messaging Nicky? Best Wishes.
She operated on me in January this year cant speak highly enough happy to be contacted x
I had initial operation locally and then was referred to her. She is lovely. She removed two more tumours, peritoneum and all fatty tissue from bowel. This was in 2015 she recommended chemo after this op and I am still clear. Well worth asking her opinion. Good luck,
Like Bettyxxx I also had surgery via the lovely Prof.in January of this year. Can't rate her highly enough. I also would be happy for you to contact me. x
Best wishes. Gwen
Sorry to butt in but who is this female London surgeon? Does she have a name so i can look her up?
I approached the team, of which she is one of the surgeons, for a second opinion at the end of Jan 2013 when my stage 3c clear cell carcinoma recurred with tumours too close to the aorta and renal arteries for Addenbrookes to feel the "mortality rate is too high". The team is at West London Gynae Cancer Centre (imperial.nhs.uk/our-service.... Click on 'Meet the team' and the lady we are talking about is next from the bottom of the five named Consultant Gynaecological oncologists) She operated on me, with Alan Farthing in Feb 2013, I returned to Addenbrookes for chemo (dose dense carbo/taxol + Avastin) and so far so good. Chemo cannot kill clear cell at stage 3 (so my onc told me), so the team must have managed to get every single cell out at the operation.
If you are interested the link ovacome.org.uk/wp-content/u... 'my story' as part of the update on research is on page 7 & 8.

And now I’m in remission

Excellent, Zena - to both your replies. For information to anyone else reading this string, mine op was all on NHS.
You have lifted my day! Many thanks. Keep well. Lesley
