I am new to this group & very scared. I have been having lower abdominal pains on my right side, some cramping. Very painful sex with bleeding afterwards. My back hurts, my stomach is bloated like crazy. They sent me to the ER thinking it was appendix but it wasn’t. Gave me pain meds & sent me home. My GP sent me to my Gyno which I see tomorrow. I have had a hysterectomy but still have my ovaries. I have one sister that died from kidney cancer, and a sister that died from leukemia.

Welcome to this group and sorry you are feeling so worried x
You are doing the right thing in seeing a gynae specialist!
Have you had your Ca125 blood test? This is often but not always an indicator that ovarian cancer may be present. You will definitely need at the least an ultrasound scan and preferably a CT scan x
If there is any suspicion of ovarian cancer you need referring to a gynae oncologist and not just an ordinary gynaecologist.
All I can say is that it is an anxious time waiting to find out so try and distract yourself with doing some nice things or spending time with friends and family x
Good luck and let us know what happens

I just got out of the shower and I found a lump on the under side of my left Breast. This is just overwhelming.
Hello...try, if you can to put this to one side until tomorrow when you see the gynae. You have done your job in seeking medical help...let the medics do their stuff, it may not be cancer at all and they may be able to suggest what it is tomorrow. But you may not get all the answers you want...so be prepared to wait some more. Maybe try to plan some nice things to do for yourself while you are waiting? It is hard not to know but taking care of yourself is really important while you are in limbo. Sending you a hug xxx
Best wishes for today xx hope you get some answers but it may be a couple weeks more of waiting for you I’m afraid x the medics have to wait for blood results, scans etc x
I know how anxious you will be but once you know and you have a plan you will feel better and you can honestly face anything, you’re stronger than you think xx

Hope all goes well today. X
Hello hartmann1701, if you want to talk your symptoms over with an experienced person, ring the Anna, the Ovacome Helpline manager on freephone 0800 008 7054; many of us have found her listening and questioning most helpful to keep us as balanced as we can.
Like the others say, be kind to yourself, one day at a time, even one hour at a time sometimes, and you may surprise yourself at how you harness the 'help from others to help yourself' in the best way you know how.
Warm wishes for as good a day as you can, Lesley
Hello. If you can, ask for an ultrasound scan of the bloated area too. That should indicate if there is any liquid present (ascites). Counting on the gynae team to find out what causes your discomfort. As the other ladies said.. try to take one step at a time, to get the issues properly diagnosed. All the best. Maus
I made it home from my Gyno, she is having me get a ultrasound. I already had a colonoscopy scheduled for Thursday so she said I was ahead by having that already scheduled. She said IBS problems have a lot of the same symptoms I am complaining of, so not to get myself upset until we get all the test results back.
For the painful sex/bleeding she prescribed something new, it’s a ring that you put in the vagina every 30 days. Hopefully that will help with that problem.
She did ask about my diet, dairy & bread products.... so I guess we will see.
Thank you all for being here for me.
