I just need to talk ..

My background. I’m 51 with very little family for support.

Last natural period feb 22, tried various hrt options between may - November 22 but decided it wasn’t for me and went it alone.

I started having right sided rib pain last year, went to docs was told stress etc, went for scan on liver, gallbladder etc everything was normal. fast forward this year .. when I think about it I have been feeling a little bloated now and again - nothing major. The last 2 months I have had various symptoms of, watery discharge, pelvic pain, now thigh pain. And in between all that egg white discharge as if I am ovulating then I spotted blood on one occasion when I wiped. Since the discharge my hot flushes have stopped ( which seems too much of a coincidence, and my breasts feel tender - but Now I’m freaking out to think is it lymph nodes )

Finally got to see a doctor yesterday ( not my usual one ) .. and obviously she has sent me for bloods with an urgent referral.

I think my right side hip area looks different to the left, but dr said she couldn’t feel anything.

she performed internal exam and said she couldn’t feel anything, see any blood but she could see the clear / white discharge.

I have alw

I’m preparing for the worse but hoping for the best. Dr wasn’t concerned about the pelvic pain at all which I found strange….. as it seems to be a common symptom on OC, the pain is worse when I sit or lay down for a long period of time. She also said that if I went to see her with just pelvic pain she would not be referring me …. The only reason she is because of the spotting.

sorry for the rant .. but I just need to get it all out to someone.

Hi Snowhite6

The doctor who has done the urgent referral is switched on. Hopefully she has requested as part of the referral the CA125 blood test. For me personally that was an indicator for ovarian cancer.

I know I was scared waiting for blood test results. Hopefully your results will come back ok. Please let us know how you get on. The ladies on here are an amazing, the support is brilliant.

Please do not Google symptoms etc. They are often outdated.

Love and hugs Beth x

Thankyou Beth, I admit I have been dr Google, that’s how I found you 😃 I have been this morning for the blood test, so it’s just waiting now. I appreciate you replying and Definitely will update with the results. I’m trying to be positive but it’s hit me like a rollercoaster, and the more I think about the ‘little’ things I put down to menopause, definitely has me overthinking now. I have read some remarkable positive stories on this site, and I am ashamed to say, I wasn’t aware of the signs or symptoms of OC and this has definitely opened my eyes on how little this is in the public eye.

Must admit I was not aware of the symptoms. I was in pain, I thought I had twisted my gut when I arrived at A & E🤦. It is an emotional rollercoaster waiting for results. We are all here for you xx.

Hello Snowwhite6

I'm sorry to hear how scared you are feeling. I am glad you have found this forum and all the support our friendly and knowledgeable members provide here.

The signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are also the signs of symptoms of much more common, more easily treated conditions, but it is important to have them investigated so that the cause can be identified. You have done the right thing in seeing your doctor. I hope the referral appointment comes through for you soon so you have some answers as to what is happening for you.

If you want to talk anything through, the Ovacome support service team are here to support you. You can call us on 0800 008 7054 Monday-Friday 10am-5pm. You can also direct message through this forum, email us on support@ovacome.org.uk, instant chat on our website ovacome.org.uk or arrange a scheduled telephone or videocall. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if there is anything we can help with.

Please stay positive dear, It’s probably not Oc , but to put your mind at ease ask for CA123 blood test and ultrasound scan .

All the best

So sorry you’re having such a worrying time…..waiting for the results is the worst part, I found. I’m sure your medical team will be able to reassure you. It sounds like it’s all being investigated. Even if it is oc, there’s every likelihood that it’s treatable as you’ve raised the concern early. Just let us know how you’re getting on.

Btw, I was 52 when diagnosed, with vague symptoms, that were written off as menopause, stress, anaemia by the GP, but that was 20 yrs ago. I’m still here!

🤗

Glad you found us but I will pray it is nothing and you can be on your way (saying in a good way only). There could be some valid reason why one of your doctors is not too worried; maybe the clinical examination was ok. Just stay positive and hope you get the results soon

You should probably ask her for a vaginal ultrasound. It is a good starter. Please remember the mind can cause so much anxiety. The not knowing is the absolute worst. When you know the facts you can move forward and deal with it. Sending you good vibes.

Hi, please try to stay calm and not to panic, not easy I know. I think you need to advocate for yourself now. Ask for ultra sound of pelvic area. My OC started off as hip pain which moved across whole abdomen when I walked for longer distances. Good luck x

Thankyou, I’m starting to get a little wobbly again, I think it’s because I am now over thinking all the ‘little niggles’ I have been feeling the last 6 months or so and putting it down to menopause. Reading the stories on ova come There are so many different symptoms, I hope your doing well x

I'm in a similar position. I saw my gp on weds eve...I have to do stool samples this weekend, I have a blood test Monday morning and a ultra sound and trans vaginal scan Tuesday morning. My symptons are slightly different. I have constant aches, similar to period pain, I feel bloated all the time, I'm exhausted, and my toilet habits are all over the place. Will keep everything crossed for you xx

Thankyou .. i went to dr on Thursday, blood test was on Friday. I do suffer with a little bit of ibs.. I always have done. So not sure if the stress of waiting to see a doctor has caused me a flare up or not in that department. my pelvic pain feels more like an intense ovulation pain, rather than period pain, the pain does ease off though when I am in the bath. So I have been having lots of baths ! But My boobs are so sore. I hope everything goes ok for you, you have been given an appointment for your scan very quickly. I will keep everything crossed for you, and I truly hope we both have a positive outcome xx

hi Ladies, so I have my ca125 blood test results. It is 18. Looks like doctor has done a very thorough blood works, and she wants one repeating in 4 weeks time, as it’s borderline. I have also received my gynaecology appointment for next week. Obviously there is something ‘going on’ down there but I just need to find what it is.

love to everyone 💕

You are good to question any changes or fears. OC is insidious and awful get a ca125 and an internal sonogram at the least keep pushing Drs cannot feel inside I had a 5 to 7 cm tumor on my ovary and mild symptoms of acid reflux and bloating but nothing else. It is a horrible disease I have been fighting for 4 years and nothing no chemo is keeping it at bay I am down to my last option I am extremely fearful!
