Hi ladies, Had a lovely mothers day dinner with my family the photo is my grandchildren, Ryan is the tallest he's 17 , Sam is the one on the left he is only 12, then my lovely twin granddaughters 17, and my granddaughters boyfriend.
I look like a little garden gnome beside the boys but I'm not I'm 5'7, Ryan is over 6ft and Sam is not far behind him , this is one of the reasons I keep fighting I won't to be around to see them turn into lovely people..

Thank you so much for sharing this picture Lorraine. What a beautiful set of grandkids!!! My sons are the mainstay of my will to keep going so I can see them as long as I can. I do know what you mean. Although I will not see my grandchildren I am so happy to see my young boys growing up and up. I love the garden gnome analogy. I’m about the same height as you and my younger son is 6foot 4, and my older boy 6 foot2 so I also always look like I need a step ladder...
Hi Netti, Thank you I'm so lucky to have a lovely family both my daughter have never given me any problems growing up and now I have my grandchildren, when I read a post and young children are involved, I do feel for that family as we all go through life hoping to see are children grow into adults, so the added worry must be heartbreaking for are ladies on here.
I don't know if it's the food or the fresh air here in the mountains but my grandsons friends are tall and only 17..
Ryan over 6' and as I said Sam is only12 and not far behind him.
I now look at my family and think their here be course of me with a little help from my husband.
Hi, Thank you, they are lovely grandchildren and I'm so proud, Sam my youngest is my movie mate he rides his bike down arfter school to watch a movie, always ring me first to see if I'm feeling ok.
Hi Maus, thank you this is the first time I have posted a photo ,arfter being on here for so long and corresponding with some amazing ladies you feel you know them and sharing the good times as well as the hard is part of this site..
What a lovely, happy picture, Lorraine. You look great, even if dwarfed slightly. I look worse with my family. I'm 5ft and two of my grandsons are both well over 6ft, another one is 6ft. The girls are tall, too, one of them 5ft 10". The granddaughter who I thought might be nearest in size to me is about 5ft 4", now. I do have one my height, though, but bigger made than me. Still, The remaining five are still growing although my 11 year old granddaughter has almost caught up with me. I'm so lucky to have them all and love them dearly. Oh dear, I've gone all sloppy. I'll be blubbing happy tears soon, lol.
Hi, They do make life worthwhile, as I said to Netti the younger generation is getting taller, I'm looking ok except for the grey hair this is how it come back and feeling ok at the moment, I've been off chemo for 3 month but had to go back on treatment Carbo/Caelyx.
Heres to some happy tears😂😂..Take care Lorraine xx
Thank you Elizabeth, I wanted to share this happy time we post each other for advice and encouragement good news and bad, I just wanted to share some good.
Glad you are finally having some sunshine arfter your very cold winter we are just coming into our winter, never as cold as the UK,I hope you have many more sunny days take care Lorraine xx
Hi Loren, Thank you we had a lovely dinner always love to see all my grandchildren together it hard to see them together as they are growing up and have boyfriend and girlfriends that life.
What a lovely family Lorraine. So glad you enjoyed the day. Our Mother's Day is in March but as my mum used to say, every day is mothers day. Our Father's Day is June, 9 months before Mother's Day. How appropriate. xx
Hi Lorraine, All okay here. I'm going tomorrow to the gene clinic to see what they have to say about the BRCA2. They allow an half hour appointment so goodness knows how much there is to hear and learn. I'll weigh up the options and go from there.
I'm all back to normal in myself. I was only wondering about the recurrences as there seem to be so many. I'm going to ask my GP for a CA125 yearly when I've finished with the clinical trial. My five years is up soon. How lucky am I?
Hope all is well. I feel guilty sometimes saying how great everything is for me when I read what such a bad time others are having. I can only send them my best wishes.
Thank you Lorraine . My husband is much better & his Psa finally within normal limits. I have had my first 2nd line Carboplatin & have felt more tired than I expected but still managing to look after my beautiful grandchildren aged 5 , and two 2 year olds ! They keep me distracted & motivated as do my 2 daughters .
Lovely happy photo Lorraine, sounds like you had a great mother’s day! You should be rightly proud of your lovely family and i’m sure they appreciate you!
Hi Madeline, I did enjoy my Mothers day dinner I felt like eating for once, I'm like you this is my 6th chemo in 4 years Caebo/Caelyx and most of the time I have no appetite.
I hope you are managing your treatment, best wishes Lorraine xx
Hi Lorraine--what a GREAT photo--I can see they love you--and they are ALL so handsome (and the boys so tall!). Good reason indeed to keep fighting--and enjoying time with them. I hope they are a nice respite from thinking about this disease on a regular basis.
Hi, They are a lovely family and both my daughters also are so supportive I'm very lucky. How are you going with treatment have you started Olaparib yet?.. Take care Lorraine xx
Hi Lorraine--so far, so good. Just started week four (on Tuesday) on Olaparib and so far, a little fatigue and that's about it. I had bloods done last Friday and ca125 and all are holding steady (ca125 went from 8 to 7 but that could still be the chemo at work). All other bloodwork "within acceptable range". It is so much easier than infusions!
I have two grown sons and although they are great, I never expected the kind of loving support they continually give me. I feel very lucky too. Take care too--I hope you are tolerating treatment well and it knocks back the beast. oxox
What a beautiful family Lorraine you must be so proud of them 💖 you look really well and happy in this pic, hope you had a wonderful belated Mother’s Day 💕💕💕
Hi, Yes they are lovely and also nice kids this is the reason I think we all fight to stay around for as long as we can
I'm glad to read you had your first chemo remember any side effect just ask for help to get you through it don't try and do it on your own..Take care Lorraine xx
