Hi all...I am a mess, wondering if anybody got the all clear and then still had raised (in my case doubled) ca125?
Am terrified it's back after 6 weeks ago last chemo. Scan shows no sign of disease and was told no signs of disease...calebrated with the kids and next day got phonecall saying need a Rescan due to tumour marker jumping from 200 to over 400.
Anyone had similar xx

CA-125 can be elevated for other reasons also, but your team are doing the right thing for rescanning you in case. Easier said than done, but try and enjoy the weather, the birdsong, everything about Spring and your family. Whatever is there or not there on the scan is already decided and worrying will not change it one iota.
I did have a big climb from 35 to 1209 but that was in three months.
You are right I'm trying to enjoy everything and pit it in the back of my mind...just hard . I feel exhausted with it all thanks for replying I hope you are ok x
I’ve since been on an immunotherapy trial and then weekly Taxol. CA-125 has never increased so much again but when I’m not having treatment it’s monitored every month. Expecting to sign-up for new immunotherapy trial on Monday.
Hi Angie-69. I'm experiencing the same thing! I was diagnosed in March 2016 ...2 weeks after my husband passed away with stage 4 Ovarian cancer. At the time of my diagnosis....my numbers were 2990!!! I've been on 3 different chemos and that Zejula that bout killed me! Lol but don't let your numbers terrify you!!! Life is still in abundance for us!
So sorry to hear that, you've been through hell ya poor thing!!
Thank you for the positivity ...we don't know how strong we are sometimes...jist a real shock dealing with it again so soon after all clear ..had one day of happiness with the kids celebrating then scares again xx
Hi i too am experiecing high ca 125 fen had carbo taxol amd avastin ca 125 56 had one treatment of avastin only ca125 was 185 the ordered PET came back clear. Another Avastin treatment now 734. Said could be sandlike grain cancer in abdomen that does scans do not pick up. They want to continue Avastin til something shows up. It is scary
it would seem odd for it to be back that soon after chemo, since it sounds like you had a good response, and your very latest scan was clear. I'm told even the die off of the cancer from chemotherapy could cause an increase in CA-125. It's harder said than done, but just know that it can be a number of things causing it aside from the cancer itself, so do your best not to stress too much.
Mine doubled in the low range (went from 8 to 15) and doc was concerned. But told me to come in for blood work 4 weeks later....it was up again (73) then a scan was ordered. It took from the doubling end of June to October before chemo started. Just saying IF it is--and you have no idea at this point--could be nothing--I just calmed down with the knowledge that treatment can be put off a bit...and nothing "terrible" happened by waiting that long (ca125 was 256 at start of chemo treatment forthis first relapse--and was 3600 when Frontline started). Hoping its NOTHING but take it one day at a time and try to enjoy.
Bless ya...ty for that info hun, seems to never end eh. Yea I reckon that's what will happen to me according to nurse I spoke with ...hope u are ok my fingers are crossed for you xxx
Hi .. mine started doubling in March 17 after finishing chemo Oct 15. .... Scan showed Mets on liver but very slow growing so some 12 months later still not started chemo again . Like Maxjor says, no harm in waiting !
Fingers crossed for your scan - let us know how you get on ... Pam x
Dear Angie-69, I had this experience too, and a PET/CT scan showed what was going on. I had tumors again, and was put on Taxol/Carbo again, which zapped the tumors. I went through this for 6 years, until I got into an Olaparib trial. I've been on Olaparib for 5 years now, with little side effects and in remission the whole time! I thank God (and Dr. Saul Rivkin!) for this medicine! Here I am, 10&1/2 years after my diagnosis of Stage 3-C ovarian cancer, after an original prognosis of 1/2 to 2 years of life. Some women have been on Olaparib for 15 years and counting!
With developing research, our chances of surviving this nasty disease are improving every day!
I hope you have a good outcome, and you keep us posted on your progress!
