Discomfort and bloating but no CA125 rise

Been suffering with discomfort on left side, just under bottom of ribs, plus intermittent bloating and a very gassy stomach for 6 weeks now. Bloods show nothing untowards.

Could this be a reoccurrence.

Oncologist says highly unlikely but has ordered a CT scan to confirm.

Has anyone else had similar circumstances.

Carol, I experience all of your list regularly. NED for 19 months now. I've had 14" of my sigmoid colon removed so those symptoms are the new normal for me. I also have unbelievable belching! Loud and frequent. No complaints. Glad to be here to burp! :)All that stated, it is still a good idea to discuss these symptoms with your doctor!

Hi, thanks for the response. Scan is booked for next week. Will definitely follow up with GP if nothing shows up on scan.

Hi Carole.

I’ve got the same. I keep thinking recurrence but I only had my last chemo a month ago. When I breathe in it really hurts. Sometimes worse than others. I’m bloated at the top of my tummy , right below my bra. Weird. I’m very windy too but blame it on the students I work with. 😂

Please don’t worry. It’s probably nothing whatsoever to do with OC

Hi Suzanne

It’s so difficult trying not to worry. This disease just messes with your head.

It tough when a reoccurrence can manifest in so many places.

I thought I had put it all behind me, now it is bang right in front of my face again.

I know. It’s a bloody horrid disease. Relentless. I don’t get excited when I’m in remission now as I know it’s going to return.

I do t know how we all cope sometimes.

Thinking of you.

I have just been dx with reoccurrence my symptoms where very similar to yours my CA125 is now not a good marker for me as it stayed at 39.

I have just had laparoscopic surgery for biopsy of liver diaphragm and peritoneal washing’s, I know I also have a 2.5 lesion within the vaginal vault and swollen pelvic lymph nodes, keep pushing for ct scan and pet scan.

Hi Ellsey

It’s crap, isn’t it....

Did your CA125 rise with your initial diagnosis. Mine did, so not sure if the case is now that it should rise if I have a reoccurrence

I have had pain in that area before, and when I tell my oncologist, she says it's probably gas. If you look up a pic online of where the colon is, it bends and pokes up under the left rib cage area. But don't mind me..... I'm a bookkeeper, not a doctor......

Well I’ve certainly been more gassy recently, so fingers crossed that’s all it is.
