I’ve recently have had Pneumonia and Pleurisy. My CA125 was checked yesterday and my CNS has just called me to say that it has risen to 64.
She also said that it can rise due to the pneumonia and they will discuss it at next weeks MDT meeting. There is a possibility they may repeat my bloods in 4 weeks or do a PET scan.
Have any of you lovely ladies had a similar experience and it turned out to be due to an infection .

Hi Hota, try no to worry. My CA125 has risen from 10 in August to 113 a couple of days ago. CT scan is still NED and I have no symptoms. So my team (following MDT meeting) don’t think it’s anything to worry about at the moment. Many things can cause a rise. They hope it will plateau or even drop. The monitor my bloods every 4 weeks as a matter of routine. I am feeling very well. So you may find it drops again when you are fully recovered. It is always a worry I know. Sending hugs x
Yes, this happened to me about four years ago. I had suspected Covid ( before testing was readily available) and ended up with a very bad chest infection. I was rough for about three weeks.
My CA125 shot up to around 39 and I even quit my job ( I was due to return after a year off ) as I thought it was recurrence.
During the following few weeks however, it gradually started to re Ed and eventually went back to normal.
Don’t panic yet, there’s a good chance it’s due to your pneumonia.
Any type of inflammation in the body can cause a rise. Mine went up immediately after surgery and then settled back down. Excellent that there are watching it although that makes us worry and then overthink. xx
I had my ca125 done and it was 590 you can imagine how scared I was! It turned out to be borderline tumour . I had it removed a year ago this month and I’m doing great xxx try not to worry them bloods are very confusing and left me worried xxxxx
