The Greek test for targeting therapies?

I just got the results of a test called " the greek test" by a doctor MD in the states she is an integrative doctor . ITs very interesting and informative.. Tells you what Chemo , Parps, targeted therapies and natural therapies work better for your cancer . I have a follow up with my MD to go over it all this week.. Have any of you ever heard of or used this test for your own diagnoses. It is expensive 1,500 -2,000 and it was a blood test not from tumor block like from foundation 1.

Thanks I feel all information is useful ..

So I’ve just had some foundation medicine gene testing done. It was expensive (around £3K) although luckily health insurance picked it up. The aim was to figure if I had any other anomalies that might help inform us in respect of future treatment. I wonder if it’s something along those lines...

Is that the place in the USA? Have they come back to you yet with any info? I'm interested as a (hopefully never needed) future option.

Don’t know where they’re based but unfortunately it didn’t come back with anything tangible as such, it confirmed BRCA1 and also P53 gene which I think is somewhat a given(?) have not dissected the full report yet but my Oncologist seemed disappointed x

Hello,

I haven’t had this test done, but I have seen feedback on it in other forums and it seems to be a love it or hate it type test - some people swear by it, others don’t see the point. I think the fact that your doctor is recommending it is helpful because (from what I have figured out), the results aren’t necessarily easy to understand, but with the help of a medical professional, it is much more beneficial. I don’t think it is that well known in the UK, and we would almost certainly have to pay privately for it, which is probably why you haven’t had lots of responses from other forum members. You’ll have to report back to us and let us know how you get on!

I think it’s Clearity in the States that does something like that. One way to get the Foundation test done is via a trial...that’s how I got mine.. at this point nothing remotely useful in what it showed. Like Sarah, P53 but that’s v common in many cancers. I was thrilled to find someone else on another group with the same variation of unknown significance as me....not that it gets us very far! I suspect these things sometimes promise more than the current state of knowledge can deliver.

Sounds interesting but not many will be able to afford. Let us know what happens.
