I had the results of my latest scan this week. I had my dose reduced following a 4 week break from the trial due to a change in my heart output.
The scan showed that two of my 4 sites had remained stable and the other two had only increased by 1-2 mm. This has also been mirrored by a slight increase in my CA125. My ejection fraction (heart) is now at 56% so still have to have an echo in 4 weeks hopefully it will stay above 52%.
Pleural effusions continue to be a problem and left one has increased slightly. I am seeing the Pleural team on Monday and my oncologist was going to write to them asking if pleurodesis was a possibility.
For now my oncologist feels I am better off continuing with the trial.

Good to hear that overall you are pleased with your scan results and you can continue with the trial. Hope the effusion is not causing too much trouble. Thinking of you Chris
So glad you are continuing on trial, that’s 17 mths I’ve been on it & like you considering the side effects of this time last year, what I have now isn’t so bad. Hope you can continue on it & you continue to be stable. Merry Christmas to you & hugs xx
Just back from seeing the Pleural Team and they have agreed to attempt a pleurodesis on the left side. There is an 80% success rate so let’s hope it sticks
Do hope it continues to work for you....but it must be difficult trying to address all the options....hopefully you'll cope and being relatively young will be able to get the best out of all this...fingers crossed for you! love Chris x
It’s such good news you are able to stay on the trial and that there hasn’t been any big increases in your CA125 and sites so one assumes the treatment is doing its job, it’s not as good re the pleural effusion but hopefully the pleural team can sort this for you and I truly hope your fraction stays high enough for you to continue your treatment.
You’ve come such a long way since last year so here’s hoping that your progress continues positively. Big hugs and love ❤️Xx Jane
I'm wishing you the very best and positive test results! Hugs....Judyved
Hi ScardyCat40
So so very pleased your scan results are so good - the trial drug must be doing something! The downside with any trial (as many of us know) are any side effects BUT you are going with it - stay strong and positive- keep smiling 😘 ...... Sue
