CA125 fluctuations
Hi I too would love to know about fluctuated ca125 as I have just had my 5th avastan and my ca125 went from 17 to 24 this time trying not to worry I had a scan in September that showed Ned
Just to say I’m not Dollie22.I’m dearg. Not sure how my post came up as Dollie22. Perhaps I’m not using this forum properly. Apologies.
Hi Dollie, I am stage four with a serous tumor. Currently on Avastin maintenance. My ca count went from 332 to 450 and there was no progression of the disease everything was stable, confirmed by a CT scan. There are a million reasons for ca fluctuations but if you are concerned you should speak with your oncologist to make sure.
Minor fluctuations in CA 125 levels are totally normal as it can go up for many different reasons, the most common being infections. I have now been NED for over 18 months since completing chemo for exactly the same diagnosis as yourself. My CA 125 has increased at every review but my oncologist is very happy with my progress. She keeps emphasising that recurrence would be diagnosed on the basis of symptoms, not on changing blood levels.
Please try not to worry about this and get on enjoying life while you are well and symptom free.
Best wishes,
Barbara
