Mum's is back

Hi all,

After 6 taxol/carbo september 16 to Jan 2017 then debulking feb 17 and 3 more taxol carbo, all clear in June. It's now back, in the omentum. We are all so disappointed it's back so quickly. So no it's caelyx with the option to wait a few weeks before starting as no symptoms..

I'm getting married in march and mum is worried about having no hair bless her

I am very sorry to hear this xxx

Hi

So sorry to hear this - it's always difficult to come to terms with a recurrence.

I haven't had Caelyx, but from what I've read on this site, it doesn't cause hair loss..........and i believe it's very effective!

Hi MissEd, sorry to hear this its a very stressful time for you all.

I finished Caelyx last month for my 3rd line treatment. I found it bearable more so than the other chemos I was on. I kept my hair it has got thin but still got it. Your mum will need to ask onc for mouth wash & other mouth medicines because she might get mouth ulcers & mouth problems. Also heat might be a problem so staying cool will help to deal with that. Hope your mum gets in a much better place soon. Take care Cindyxx

I’m sorry to hear about your mums recurrence. I’ve not done caelyx but other ladies have previously said it’s not as bad as carbo/taxol so I hope this is the case for your mum too. I can imagine you’ve all got better things to deal with rather that chemo but I suppose it’s that that’s already kept her here for you and for your wedding. Good luck with all the wedding plans and I hope your mum does OK with the caelyx. Take lots of care ❤️Xx Jane 🇺🇸

So sorry to hear this. I've just had my fifth lot of caelyx and carboplatin and I haven't lost my hair. It has thinned a tiny bit but not enough to notice. I'm sure your Mum will look lovely at your wedding, as will you :) Good luck to your Mum, and best wishes xxx
