Hi All. I was diagnosed with OC in May 2015. I didn't have the normal symptoms but just knew there was something wrong. Wonderful quick reaction from GP and Specialist led to a prompt diagnosis of OC and a Neuro endocrine tumour (completely separate from ovarian). Following an inconclusive biopsy my specialist decided to go ahead with a debulking operation and removal of the lymph node which was affected by the other tumour, which was performed at the end of June 2015. Once recovered from operation I was put onto chemo as a mop up to be safe. I consider myself very fortunate in getting through it all remarkably unscathed, yes I lost my hair (but this didn't upset me, really is the least of your worries at the time!). I didn't have too many side effects, other than bad indigestion which they treated me for, a horrible taste for 2-3 days after a chemo session, a lot of fatigue but manageable ( I just gave into it and listened to my body). I have had frequent follow ups & two CT scans and am delighted that everything's going really well and I feel brilliant. Two years on things are good.
I no longer take the medication prescribed for the indigestion but do find I suffer from acid reflux , but no pain, quite frequently. Is this a problem for anyone else out there?

Hi there,Good to know that you are still so well. I cannot help with your acid reflux except to say that it would be a good idea to see your GP regarding this as it can do damage to the oesophagus if it is fairly persistant. My husband had this for ages & did nothing only taking over the counter meds. Fortunately it was caught in time & he now just takes one 15mg lansaprazole each day. I hope that you can get this sorted out.
Hi and welcome to our gang, we're a lovely bunch and there's always somebody here that can help with most topics, it's good to hear that you're doing so well and long may it continue.
The acid reflux was an issue for me when on chemo but that subsided once treatment finished and now it's totally gone. Like Caleda4 says get it checked, it may well be nothing but it isn't called acid reflux for nothing and it can have long term effects, my dad used to have it, transpires he had an underlying cause of an ulcer that eventually burst which needed surgery whereas meds could have sorted it much earlier and easier.
Better safe than sorry always. Keep well and do let us know how you are ❤️Xx Jane
Well done on your recovery. I love to read about success stories as it gives me/us so much more hope. I get reflux from a small hernia and find that if I avoid eating late or drinking red wine to excess (very hard to do!!) then I am relatively reflux free. If we go out dining late then I sit up in bed for at least 2 hours before laying down and suck Rennies. It's not the best way to end the night but better than waking suddenly with acid in my nose and mouth and a chest on fire. Good luck xx
I took a Omaprezole, one tablet a day, it was the only thing that allowed me to eat prior to op (I had ascites) and after op and I still suffer from acid reflux, so am still taking it 3 years after op.
Would suggest you speak to your onc to get something subscribed
