My poem. : I often write poems. Here's one I... - My Ovacome

Hi Suzanne, it has lifted me & has made me smile.
I am ok today on chemo so having some ups & downs nothing I can't handle. Take care Cindyxx
Hi Cindy. I'm glad it has made you smile.
We are all in this together. We keep each other strong.
I hope your chemo goes ok
Thinking of you. Xxx
Hi Suzanne, I have to agree with you we do keep each other strong. It's as if we make a daisy chain of us all attached together. They do say there is strength in numbers & that is very true with us.
We are their in good & bad times & the middle times when we have questions that we need answering or just someone to listen to are ranting.
This site has become my life line. It can be very sad sometimes but also very up lifting as well.
I am so glad you are feeling positive its a lot to do with our frame of mind. At times its easier said than done. Take care Cindyxx
First thing I read when I got up. Thank you Suzanne! Dealing with my first recurrence and now I have my marching poem! I'm ready!! (Have a great day!)

Hi Chris.
Aww. I'm glad it made you smile. I might not be able to obliterate it for good but I'll certainly keep beating it back to under its rock. Nasty cancer.

Hugs back. Xxxx
Brilliant, I have just finished 6 months chemo for third reoccurrence and you sum up exactly how I feel! Pam x
Aww Suzanne that's brilliant.... get you writing poems.. I wish I could! Made me smile.. keep "em coming.. π xx
I totally agree with your poem. I am facing a recurrence after being diagnosed in 2013. This disease is a beast which never goes away and just keeps giving us a kick just when things seem to be going okay. I too have no symptoms but have a rising Ca125. It is not time to give in but just keep fighting.
This should become our mantra!! It's brilliant! X
Love it !!! Xx
Great poem, great sentiments. Thanks for making me smile, Suzanne. All the very best Jo π»πΌπΊπΉπΈ
Hi Suzanne
Love it ! Brilliant poem. I write funny little poems too and usually for birthdays , retirements etc. Last year my recurrence gave birth to two poems on this site . I agree with you that writing them puts you back in that fighting spirit to deal with that blooming recurrence. Keep them coming Suzanne . Who said " the pen is mightier than the sword " ? Or even the surgeons knife ! I woke up feeling down and your post cheered me up . Maybe you should start a poets corner on this site and lots of budding poets will join. Keep on writing !

Hi Molly.
I'm glad you liked it. You're right, it does help to write and I like doing it in poetry form. It helps others too.
Maybe we should write a book. We can all contribute. Can be sad, funny, inspiring etc. The power of poems.
It's another way of helping ourselves and others.
Sending you a big hug. Xxxxx
That is fab!! It is brilliant. I am so sorry you are in this mess too and so scary when it recurs.
But you seem to have your fighting pants on! Keep it up as your immune system will get an extra big boost when you feel strong! You have a great attitude.
Love Nicky xx
This is fantastic - I love it!

I love your poem Suzanne, thank you. Just sitting having chemo treatment and when I read the poem it rang true...and also made me smile.
Thinking of you, stay strong, enjoy the day wherever you are πΊ Xx
Fantastic Suzanne! i did loads of creative writing when having treatment and found it extremely cathartic. I still write poetry now and use creative writing a lot in my counselling practice with clients. Go girl! You might like this one:
Frustration
There will be time, there will be time
To bake a cake or pot that plant
The friend thatβs coming will help with the washing
or sort out the flowers because you canβt
Donβt make plans to cycle βround India
Or climb Kilamanjaro. They will still be there
I know itβs for charity but think of yourself
For now itβs you that needs the care
When itβs hard to rise from your bed
Itβs ok to rant and sob and fret
Make faces in the clouds scudding by
Donβt count the hours passing βjust forget
It doesnβt matter if you miss a day or more
Or if you only manage to walk the floor
Walking a little longer will come in time
Youβll soon be rushing to spend at the store
That book you want to read will wait
Your brain is tired too and canβt concentrate
For now read Hello, watch daytime TV
Let your body recover from chemotherapy

Suzanne, your positive attitude just blows me away. In the face of all that's happened to you I'm truly astonished at your energy. Your bright aura shines through your posts. I do not think I could be as composed as you are. What is your secret?
