I think sometime they dont like to scare till they know more. My cyst the gyno said probably hemorragic so they dont know so wont say till either it goes or taken out to check unless you ask questions direct I think they tell you bear minimum till they know told me they are looking for endometriosis with or without cystectomy

Leanne my consultant has told me that she is not looking for cancer and cudnt see any on the ct scan ....sob just wants the mri to check the cysts ..

Hi there yes c.t gives a good honest picture of what is going on. Obviously your consultant is being careful by adding in mri to be sure. Try not to worry there are all various benign cysts so maybe mri identifies the type not sure. Maybe ring the Ovacome helpline tomorrow for more advice.

Hi moretigger,

Try not to worry tho it's easier said than done. I think there's no doubt she is telling you all that she knows as she sees it at the moment. Presumably she has no concerns as she wouldn't be leaving your mri til Sept! If the worry is really troubling I would explain this too to them and ask for an earlier appointment. In my case (nearly 30 years ago) things moved pretty quickly once there was a possibility my ovarian cyst was malignant ( it was!). But still here to tell the tale.

Wishing you all the best.
