Good evening ladies, just two weeks after having the mri I got a letter today giving me the wonderful news that there is no evidence of recurrence and my ca125 was 8.........phew! The surgeon did an extra scan because of my recent diagnosis of lymphedema in my leg, it could have been connected. So .........breathe again! Just putting up with wearing the horrid thick tight stocking in this weather! x

Hi, So glad to hear the good news ,,Lorraine 😊😊
Fantastic news, I can imagine your relief, congratulations think a little drinkypoo to celebrate may be in order 🥂❤️ xx Jane
Fantastic news you must be so relieved . Ca125 of 8 is great. 😀
Can understand how you feel about the stockings have had many a battle with them in the past as my mum needs them and can't get them on or off herself . She even has to sleep in them. But they do do an amazing job and her legs have been so much better since wearing them . ( she doesn't have Oc but odema due to congestive heart failure ) Along with her meds have probably saved her life .
Have you got a nice comfy recliner chair it also helps to keep your legs up when sitting .😀 good excuse !
So with your great result you can get out and about and enjoy the summer and put those feet up in the evening with a nice chilled prosecco 🍾 enjoy
Love and best wishes and stay well Kim X
.
Best wishes and long may you remain at 8! That's fantastic! Bx
That's great new Lorraine. Out of interest, is the stocking helping your leg? My mother in law has recently been diagnosed with lymphoedema by a locum GP, her own GP had her on water tablets for a few years! I had suspected it was lymphoedema and said to her a long time ago to say to her doctor, but you know the older generation, they just don't question anyone in authority! Anyway it came to a head recently when she could no longer get shoes and she mentioned this to me. I asked her had the locum referred her to the lymphoedema clinic, she said she didn't know there was one so I told her to go back to the GP and ask for a referral which she did. She's noiw waiting on an appointment. I'm worried that it has been left too long and they might not be able to help her. I think it stems from radiotherapy to her pelvis area for cancer. Ann x
Hi Ann
Yes make sure she gets to see a specialist nurse as the support stockings really make a big difference but have to be made to measure to be really affective . If this is left unchecked it can lead to really awful leg ulcers . Mums broke out really quickly and were then difficult to heal . So the stockings really do make a difference along with elevating the legs when sitting and sleeping ( rolled up towel under the mattress ) .
Best wishes Kim x
Thank you dear friends. Yes the stockings def do make a difference as does elevating my leg though the nurses said it really wont make much difference BUT it does. I have put two 2" blocks of wood under the end of my bed, you hardly notice it but the difference it makes in the morning is amazing. Next week I am going to look at a Velcro wrap they want me to try, I will see what its like but if I thought my leg wouldn't get any worse than it is now I will happily just wear the stocking. Not supposed to have hot baths or use hot tubs................but I find a hot tub bliss, might get to use one once a year on a short break so am not giving that up! My perfect end to my day is a wallow in a hot tub with a glass of Prosecco..............we have to have some treats! Our dear Clare has posted a video on FB today. xx
Great news!!!! Xx Carol
