Hi, I'm going to the States for 9 days in August and the quotes I received were £3,500, £3,200 and £2,800. I was aghast, this was more than the cost of the holiday. A lovely lady on here posted about Boots for insurance. Went on line, completed the questionnaire and I have got insurance for £195. It gives me £5000,000 of cover should I need it and it also covers the cost of our holiday should I have to cancel before I go. Make sure your travelling companion is on the same policy, that way they will be covered to stay on with you if the need arises. I could have got it for £145 but it wouldn't have covered the cost should I have to pull out. Ann xx

Yes, everything, high blood pressure, under active thyroid, cholesterol etc. Compete the questions, you have to tell them your meds. Ann xx

Hi Ann. Are they actually covering your OC and other existing conditions?

Wow thats really good. I think I'll look at them. I always travel to the states with insurance but no cover for the OC. Thanks for the info :).

I just tried Boots... Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer . 3 more chemos to be done . But got turned down!!

Was given the name BIBA TEL 03709501790. They should be able to help.

Gutted our holidays booked for July 17th...

May have to go with the standard policy for £15 lol

Try Alpha Travel Insurance

alphatravelinsurance.co.uk They were recommended to me and gave a good quote (but at the time I wasn't on a trial). I ended up not travelling in the end, so I don't know what the claims experience would be like. If I remember the on-line medical questionnaire was fairly extensive.

I have just used InsuranceWith- £55 covering everything for a week in the Canaries. £350 excess for everything declared. Very helpful and the online questionnaire is very comprehensive.

Used Staysure last year - £450 for an annual policy extended Europe.

It is quite an ordeal having to answer these questions but the holiday will make it all worthwhile.

xx

Hi I too have used MIA insurance and found them very good. A friend with cancer recommended them to me, as she had to go to New Zealand in the middle of chemotherapy. Best of luck with this and have a fabulous holiday. xxxx

Hi, i just came back from tenerife after 8 days in glorious sun. I got my insurance from eurotunnel insurance on a fit to travel basis ( if your doc says your fit to travel and not terminal ) it cost me £20. Bargain. Yes i was covered for everything.

I am really happy with a quote from Open Travel Insurance today of £185 for annual worldwide cover including £5,000,000 for medical expenses and the excess is £50.

There are no medical questions but your doctor must be happy for you to travel and your condition is must not be terminal.

The only other criteria is you must be 50 years or older and be a member of the WI.

After being refused by Insurance With because I am about to start chemo again and quoted £1800 by Avanti I am very pleased.
