Had five minutes of Javelin 200 trial (ovarian cancer)
immediate reaction 'body rash and high blood pressure' trial were ended - now having to return to taxol that never previously worked 'six x three weeks course' obviously very upset.

Oh no - that is tough! I'm so sorry that you had a bad reaction! Have you checked with your medical team to see if there are any other trials for which you might be suitable?
If not, I hope that the taxol finally kicks in and does its job!
Sending lots of hugs,
Barbara
I can understand you are upset after all the hoops to jump through to get onto the trial. Was it a reaction to Avelumab or to Caelyx / Doxil?
Are there any other trials suitable for you?
Best wishes.
Can you transfer to arm A, its worth an ask, Could they reduce the Caelyx. I would ask for a second opinion if you are not happy about Taxol, A lot of ladies have great praise for Prof Jayson at the Christie if that is manageable for you
Thank you, it is all worth a try, 'believe me' we will be asking all of the questions on advice that has been offered, 'and more'
For my own education, what is this trial and what is the difference between arm 1 and arm 2? I am not that savvy but thought carlyx was out of trial and now approved.
Thanks so much
I had very similar reaction to caelyx when I started line 2 . That was replaced with Gemcitabine which didn't work and am now on Octopus trial which is Taxol plus trial drug or placebo.
I believe they can rechallenge you with Caelyx by administering very slowly with extra Steroids. As you are on a trial they might consider it, worth trying I would have thought.
Good luck, Liz
Liz, all interesting information that boosts our case for next Monday's meeting with the specialist. It is amazing that without these online discussions, I'm sure that we would find it hard to receive such important information. We could definitely do with a bit of luck. I will keep you updated on the situation, meanwhile, have a good St. Patrick's...
Liz, the discussion was not good yesterday. We were given two choices Taxol, or Gemzar and that was it. Apparently there are no trials suitable for my wife.
