Hi I'm Luchie: I'm a mother of 4 lovely adult... - My Ovacome
Hi I'm Luchie
What a woman to have four such lovely boys. Sorry your cancer has brought you to this group. There are many women here who can offer excellent advice as and when you need it, or you can just chat. Welcome Luchie! Warm regards Carole H 😊 x
Thanks Carole, this forum is so wonderful, I just came across the site trying to google " survivors of OC with staged 3c high grade and thus forum popped! So I joined in January but I don't know how to post!! That says it all I'm hopeless with IT.. But today I was playing with my iPad and boom I did it! So there's hope for me.. Lol. Take care..xx
Hello Luchie, that's a wonderful photo, where is it? I first thought you must all be going rock climbing but then I think those are life jackets! So perhaps you're going on the underground river mentioned in the caption.
I'm Stage IIIC carcinosarcoma with high grade serous elements, diagnosed December 15 / January 16 so similar to you, except I'm a bit older at 67.
All the best! Helen
Hi Helen thanks for your reply, the picture was taken last year when we had our family holiday. My husband was taking the picture so minus him.. Lol 😊
This was in the Philippines Palawan underground river.. It was an awesome place. We are planning to go back there this year , so I'm hoping for a very good result . Just finished my chemo carbo/taxol 2weeks ago and went for my scan 2days ago, so waiting for the result next week.. I'm on avast in also for 18 cycles but the first 2 was with my 5th & 6th chemo sessions.. Take care and will post next week for the result.. Xxx
Hi Luchie, you must be so proud of your lovely boys. I really like the photo.
This is a lovely group to be with I am on it everyday & the advice as well as information you receive is brillent. Did you have surgery? Good luck on your results next week. Take love Cindyxx
Hi Cindy, thanks for your messaged, my boys and my husband is my main reason to fight this awful disease!! I feel positive so I know I will beat it.. This forum is so wonderful.. Take care.xxx
Lovely boys and I bet they've really taken care of you in this. Boys can really surprise you x
Hi Tracy , they are my everything and they are all mummies boys.. They all come to my appointment s and chemo treatment, and as you know we are only allowed one visitor to stay with us during chemo and since I'm there from 9am - 6pm they sit in the sitting room and take turns to be with me until we all go home together.. I'm one lucky mummy!! As it happens, you already met one of them .. Xxxx
Hi I'm Suzanne. I have 3 lovely daughters and they are just like your boys. They do chemo in relays because of the 1 only ( 2 hospital are ok with) rules. Doesn't it make you feel proud! I do have a son - a different kettle of fish but I wouldn't be with out him!
Hello Luchie, and er, um welcome. Never seems to be the right word somehow, but you get the gist I hope?. It is a very caring, supportive group of remarkable women, though many of them would say there is nothing remarkable about themselves, that they had no choice but to join the battle and just get on with it, ( actually read a post saying just that , the lady was fed up with being told she was brave). I must admit I,m half afraid of inadvertently using platitudes that are annoying, but the ladies here are very gentle and I don,t feel quite so worried about saying the wrong thing now. Still, I find their courage amazing, particularly the way they rally around when someone is finding it too much, and the nights seem a little dark, there is always someone around to throw the light back on and give some fresh perspective. It,s great how the folk that need it find their way to this forum, mostly ladies with O.C themselves of course, but a smattering of others, such as partners, or people like myself who joined to in the hope of being better able to understand my sister. She is doing a grand job of pretending ( at least to the outside world ) that this disease hasn,t happened to her, even though she had " her big op " recently. ( hate that horrible D.B. word, so does Sis), She has told her work she ,s had a " hysterectomy" but not told them why. This site has really helped me, the ladies here are a veritable font of information, I know you will find the same. So many great, encouraging stories on these pages, and so much knowledge, I don,t think I,ve ever seen a question that has gone unanswered, from news of new trials and treatments, to coping strategies and more. I,m sure the diversity of the group, from housewives to nurses, young to the more elderly, is one of its greatest strengths, another is the marvellous group of women who come here. Sorry, got a waffle on there,( using your post to give the ladies a nod I think! ). As with yourself, Dr Google led me here, and I feel so grateful and less alone now, as does my mum thanks to the information we have gleaned, and I know there will be people ready to support Sis if and when she is able to join herself. Wow, what a job you had on your hands with those four strapping lads. What a beautiful photograph, you look like one proud mama!. Warmest wishes to you, glad you figured out how to post!. marie. x
Perfect choice of pic to pick us all up on here ...it shows a wonderful sense of fun and joy love it ... sorry that you find yourself on this forum but it's a great place for support advice and positivity... the ladies on here are a definite life line 🤗

Luchie the predictive text wrote "luckiest" when I started typing your name. I suspect you may not feel that just now but your boys look very protective of you. I have 2 boys (17 and 19 years old) and they have been amazing since my diagnosis. I am sure you will find this forum as helpful and supportive as many of us.

Hi Luchie, welcome to our forum. What a handsome family you have. I am stage 3b high grade serous. Diagnosed in June 2013 at the age of 53. Ann x
Hi Luchie. We share something wonderful as well as the awful. I too have four adorable human beings as sons, but I'm older at 68 but that is just a number. I also have oc and in the peritoneum but also in lymphs in thorax, neck and underarm. Lungs and liver clear. Minor tumours on bowel. Pretty much it.
As you say, we both fight and live for our hubby and sons. My hubby is my world and my rock. After all these years married I still think he's gorgeous. He keeps telling me to go to specsavers.
Keep well and thank you for following me. I shall follow you too. Love Kryssy xx
Hi Krissy, thanks for your reply, I saw that you are new to this forum, yes it looks like we have plenty in common. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary 2 weeks ago surrounded by my loving family and friends. I'm still on maintenance Avastin until end of October. I'm in pain most of the time, sole of my feet, knee joints and shoulder, I'm sure it's the avastin. I don't mind as long as it works in keeping the beast away. I'm approaching my 2nd 3 monthly check post chemo, and praying to God that I will continue to have a long remission.
Take care.xxx
Congratulations on your anniversary. We are 47 years November. Stuck in hospital at the moment with severe neuropathy but got the pain under control with morphine and anti nausea drips. Can't wait to go home though.
Here's everything crossed for a never ending remission - for all of us. Kryssy xx
