Hello lovely ladies, I am Trixie's sister in law and wanted to let you know that sadly Trix has lost her long fought battle.
She went in to hospital last Monday 6th to be drained (Ascites) but unfortunately became weaker, must have known because she had already organised for her beloved son and also her sister to return from Australia to be with her at the end.
She had her two sons with her when she left us and went to join her husband Daryll, who we lost last January.
Please can I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your kind comfort and support over the years that you gave Trixie. Some of you also, I know, gained knowledge and comfort from Trixie as well. Some of you called her a Trojan, a warrior, brave and kind and yes she certainly was all of these but most of all she was just a woman who had been given this terrible disease and fought and battled to the very end.

I'm so very sad to hear this news. I met Trix at the Penny Brohn Centre and thought what a brave and inspirational lady she was to be dealing with this disease with such courage and even humour. My heart goes out to you and her family and I hope that she can now rest in peace with her beloved husband. Ali x

Trix drew comfort I believe, in sharing things with you lovely people, brought together to fight the good fight not by choice but by circumstances! Please don't give up, any of you 💕💕💕

Thank you so much for letting us know and I am so very sorry for your loss. Trix was a true inspiration to all the women on this Forum and was there for us all until very recently. I am so sad to hear that she has passed on but so very glad that she is now pain free and back with her hubby whom she missed terribly.

I never met her but wanted to,we were nearly in Harley Street at the same time, she certainly was a fighter and Im so pleased she had family around her when her time had come.
I will picture her drinking a cider and black currant in the sun and will raise a glass to her tonight,

Thank you for letting us know - you will have already seen that she has been missed by many of us here as she hadn't managed to post recently. It's difficult to sometimes find out what's happening when a lot of our friendships are virtual.
She shared openly with us, was a wonderful lady, an inspiration to others and I hope you can relate to how much support she gave us.
Thank you Clare, yes I do realise what she meant to a lot of you on here. She was an absolute dictionary on everything ovarian cancer related, sometimes amazed me at what she knew and remembered! She often knew more than her oncologist on current trials, drugs available and statistics, I'm very proud of her. She outlived her prognosis as well as caring for my brother through his bowel cancer and the subsequent loss. If I could be half the woman she was I'd be happy.
So sorry to hear the sad news.. She was truly an inspirational lady. She will be sadly missed but at least she is pain free now. Rest in peace now.. Xxx

so so sorry, Trixie was one of the first ladies to answer my first post here which was just last year, I wish I had found this site earlier when first diagnosed in 2014, it has helped me in my down times and has been of immense help. RIP Trixie, at peace now. Jeanette.

Thanks for posting to let us know about Trixie, Gill. Her personality came over loud and strong through her posts here, and she was at the very least "just a woman who had been given this terrible disease..." as you say, but in my opinion, Trix was one of the best of the many OC women here who respond daily and regularly with wise, and true, comments and advice. She will be missed.

I am so saddened to read this news. Despite her own problems with this disease she always took the time to answer a plea for help. I too have been the recipient of her kindness . She did lots of research and passed on her knowledge to this forum. She will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace.
Yes Molly, she definitely did lots of research, scoured the Internet and read everything. As I said before she very often knew more than her local oncologist! Bless you 💕
Gill, I'm so sad to learn of Trixie's passing. She was a wonderful woman and gave support to so many women on this forum. Please accept my condolences to yourself, her sons and whole family circle.
Heaven must be a wonderful place, it has so many of our beloved fellow warriors in it!
I am completely shocked ....We had many conversations about similar treatments and I was so hoping that she was making progress ....Heartbroken to have lost another friend to this dreadful disease . She was a great lady , and witty and wise . Condolences to all of you at such a ghastly time .
I'm so sad reading this. Heartbreaking. I never had the pleasure of meeting Trixie but have always had a soft spot for her. I always had a lovely vision of what she was like - someone that would be so kind and gentle. She was an inspiration to many on this site including me and her determination to overcome all the obstacles that were in her way never failed to amaze me. The difficulties she faced regularly with her illness then losing her husband but somehow she still managed to get up and keep going. A brave and courageous lady. She was so knowledgable and shared that with us all too along with her humour. Never a stone left unturned with Trix she just kept on coming back with more options.
Rest in peace Trixie. A lovely lady who will be sadly missed by us all.

I didn't know Trix sadly, as I'm a fairly newish member of this forum, but can tell from your responses how much she contributed here.
It's difficult to read of the passing of someone, as it makes the reality of what we are dealing with here, very present.
No words will compensate for the loss of a loved one, but am sending a virtual hug to you, & your family as I'm sure she has left a huge gap in your lives. x❤️x
Oh no I am so sorry to hear this. Although I didn't meet Trix, I always looked out for her posts and I know how much family meant to her. She was a gentle but determined lady and I will miss her very much. My own husband is very poorly with bowel cancer spread to the brain and I know I will need Trix's strength to get through these tough times. I will have her in my mind drinking that cider in the sun and draw strength and love from that image. Much love to you and your family, you will have some wonderful memories of her to treasure.

I knew Trix gained a lot of comfort on here but I am overwhelmed by the amount of people who thought so much of her and appreciated her bravery. I think I'm going to call you all ' Trixie's Troopers' 💕
I am so very, very sad that Trix is now gone. She was very generous and caring as she shared her journey. She was full of grace and determination to be LIVING, not "dying" of cancer. She will no longer suffer. She's now with her beloved husband. Thank you for letting us all know. Tesla in Seattle
Hi Gill - like all the ladies have said I didn't meet Trix personally but we had exchanged many messages over the last 2-3 years so I felt that I knew her in a virtual way if that makes sense!
I've had a good solid weep since reading your post and it just hammers home what a total **** this disease is but my God she gave the Beast a bloody good run for its money! !! I've picked myself up with more determination to continue to keep 2 steps ahead for as long as I can - just as Trix did.

To me, she was indeed a fine warrior, a fount of wisdom and a brilliant support when I first landed here to begin my own journey with this horrible disease, late in 2015.
When I read this post my heart sank with sadness as I had been just thinking of Trix yesterday and was going to send her a personal message to see how she was doing. Like AliK I was at the Penny Brohn, I met Trix on an evening outing to the local pub! (We loved the herbal teas and meditation of course but felt the need for a bit of 'real life' and a glass of wine!). About 7 of us went and had such a good evening. Since then it has been lovely to keep in touch by email and via this forum with some of the lovely ladies including Trix who inspired me with her dogged determination to keep going and keep pursuing new treatments for this ghastly disease. Very sadly, she is the 4th of that group to have now passed on but they are not forgotten. I will miss Trix's words and her sense of humour even in the most awful of times, but I am glad she's now at peace and I hope there is somewhere pretty special where she and your brother are together again after all they both went through.
