Since my DX I have learned not to put things off so I am getting a couple of tatoos in a few weeks AND I am going to do the longest and fastest Zipline in Europe which happens to be in Wales! I have put the link below so you guys can have a look! The reason I am telling you this is because of the conversations recently about meeting up I will be in Liverpool to do the Zipline on Sat the 25th and Sunday 26th of Feb (doing the zipline on the Friday and staying with family in Liverpool for the rest of the weekend!). If anyone is close by let me know it may be possible to have a little coffee meeting or afternoon tea or some such civilised get together??? No pressure just if anyone fancies it!!! BTW if anyone fancies doing the zipline the more the merrier!!!!πππ
Hope ye are all ok and enjoying the New year so far!
Wow and good for you. You've got the right idea. I'd love to do the zip wire but Wales is a bit far away from Essex. I hope you enjoy it. ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»Xxx
WTG you're braver than me. I could probably manage the zip line if someone gave me a shove at the top but tattoos, uh-uh that's a big no-no for me. Everyone thinks I have a PICC line cause my veins are shot when in reality for me it means no more needles!!
All the best and hope you have a fab time. Are you doing it as a fund-raiser? If you are post the link
Thanks a million I am defo going to do a fundraiser this year but not this time cos I am not sure if it will happen it's very weather dependant and I might run screaming when I see it!!! Will come up with something else for fundraiser, am even toying with a marathon but not sure about that! Back to the gym next week in a big way and will see how that goes before I make that decision!
Hope all good with you!
Dx
Good for you. Hope it's really enjoyable. Having my hair dyed bright red was my two fingers up to cancer before I lose it again. Bit tame when I see what you are doing. You go girl πππ»π»π
I meant to send you a message to say how much I love your hair I' did a double take when I saw the pic I didn't recognise you! I have tried 3 different ways to get the purple in mine but none of them worked yet, I haven't given up though I really want purple hair!!!
Good luck in the coming months and keep us posted on how you are getting on!!
Mmmm purple π€ That maybe a thought for next timeπ Post a photo if you manage it. Chemo starts next week and I have everything crossed that this one will blast the monster. Xxπ»
Have you tried a toner for hair colour? It fades after a couple of weeks but fab colours including purple. The woman who cuts my hair - now that I have it again, had to try a couple of different strength mixtures to get it to work. Would post photo but in faded stage now.
Hey D my sons did this last year when we were in Snowdonia. They had an excellent time and I loved watching them fly past. You do a "trial zip" first then you chug up in a truck to the top of the quarry. I don't like heights so am impressed you are going for it. They film you and you can get the data sent on. The bounce below is fab, and there is an underground climbing and zip wire combo experience in the caves as well. My husband and boys really loved that too. I was full of ascites and really unwell but they had a tip top time and I enjoyed seeing them.
I know what you mean about doing stuff tho - I have booked a hotel at Easter to see Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace, and we are doing our trip of a lifetime to the USA in summer ( just need someone to insure me!). Also in the pipeline are a short walk along the Cleveland Way and a Michelin starred dinner in a dance restaurant. I need stuff to look forward to.
The very best to you all as we face whatever comes.
Sounds great Netti I am a firm believer in having things to look forward to be they big trips, small trips or lots of little treats they do make a big difference IMHO!
Oh yes to the zip wire.. seen it on tv.. really fancy that myself! Def no to tats tho! Can't do that weekend but if you're down South anytime keep me posted!! Love Michelle xx
Nice π What tats you getting done? I have 2 but planning my next few!
My girlfriends booked us to do this for my hen do 2 years ago but unfortunately bad weather meant it got cancelled but have been meaning to go back. I won't be able to join you on that weekend in Feb but look forward to hearing all about it βΊ
Getting two infinity knots on my wrists one with Hope and one with Joy. They are going to have a tiny little bird and the wing of the bird is going to be Teal! That's the plan anyway! Don't have Tattoos so this is a very new experience for me, actually very excited about it and it's all booked and everything getting them done on the 21st after the ovacare coffee morning in Dublin so a fun filled day on the 21st!!
Saw your other post about the night sweats, I had some of them when I was going through Chemo and I did think they would continue with the surgical menopause but luckily for me they haven't to any great extent! Sometimes I wake a little damp but nothing major!! Hope they resolve themselves soon!
Would love to go to your get together on the 26th but Heathrow is closest to Guildford and can only get there from Dublin! I am going to be in London sometime around the end of May but don't know the dates yet but as soon as I know I will see if anyone is around!!
I am impressed with your array of activities. Cannot do heights myself, at least in the past so admire anyone who does. Missed info about coffee morning in Dublin on the 21st. Where is it on?
The Coffee morning is on in the Hilton Hotel in Kilmainham just behind Heuston Station. I have been at a few now and they are a great way to meet women who know exactly what you are going through regardless of what point in the journey you are! You can say as little or as much as you want (including nothing!) there is no pressure! The link for registration is below there is no problem if you register and you cant make it they just want to get an idea of numbers for Tea/Coffee/Room Size etc!
Loving the sound of your tats hun, look forward to seeing some pics once they are all healed! Meh...night sweats...what can you do? I don't get them all the time luckily, but when i do, i certainly know about it! Shame about the 26th but totally understand. Keep in touch about the end of May...i'm away again on the 30th May, but maybe we can sort a little group get together in London before then! xx
Ooh! How exciting, what tats are you getting? I have 2 mine are Dumbo on my left shoulder blade and his friend Timothy Q mouse on my right buttock (how shocking for a 62 year old Ha Ha). As for the zip line go girl! What an adrenaline rush that will be. If you set up a 'just giving' page I'd sponsor you to do it if it was for a good cause. I can't be there, so wish I could, but I'm sure you'll have a ball. good luck you brave girl β€xx Jane
Love it crop crop! I am 46 and this is my first venture into the Tattoo world! I am getting 2 infinity knots on my wrists one with hope and one with joy. Going to incorporate Teal into them too just a small little bit of colour! Might get a more adventurous tattoo if these go ok!! We will see!!!
Not doing it as a fundraiser this time afraid I won't do it or it might be cancelled as it's very weather dependent!!!
Hell, you are mighty. Fair play to you... it sounds thrilling!!!
Hi D you are really one amazing lady but you show we have one chance in life and we have to take it so I wish you the very best for the tattoes and the zip line. Will be waiting to see a photo please,
Will post pics don't worry! Getting the tattoos done the afternoon of the Ovacare coffee morning in Dublin. Friend of mine uses a tattoo parlour in Dublin so going there cos I know they do good work!!!
Hi D ... I might just join you on the zip wire. I live on the welsh borders and was actually going to be in Barmouth (which is pretty close to the wire) that weekend so I could come up a day early on the train ... just to say I'm thinking about it. Tattoo ... no way ... but I am considering getting my ears pierced!
