Even though I had no cancer left after surgery I still had carbo and taxol guess it's because of clear cell diagnosis 😳 Great news for you tho stay well 👍🏻

I am really happy for you, there are some ladies just on Carbo on site as well this seems to be a new thing with oncologists. So hope you do something nice before you start the chemo best wishes

Great news ☺ I had 12 weekly doses of carbo/taxol after surgery 'adjuvant' chemo they called it. for me, it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the horror stories you read. don't put up with any side effects - there are multiple med options to counter most everything (they told me) My worst was the hair loss (lovely taxol) but I didn't experience nausea or metallic taste and bowel problems only happened a couple of times. I'm an avid baker so I baked cakes every week and shared them with my fellow chemo-ers and also took scrabble and ingenious in to play ... it was like a coffee morning and made it fun (distracted us from what was happening!) It was so good seeing everybody's face light up in anticipation of their cake (including the amazing staff ☺)

Best of luck to you xx

Thank you for your positive posting. Like you I am having carbo/taxol as adjuvant treatment after surgery. My first treatment is 5th December and I am nervous of possible side effects. I realise now I won't necessarily experience all the side effects and once I have the first treatment will feel more confident.

Good luck with your treatment. X

Yes this was my case. We're lucky. Carboplatin does have side effects, all manageable. Don't be afraid to ask questions especially about your bloodwork. I also recommend taking the antiemetics on a time schedule rather than waiting until you feel sick. Please feel free to message me at every step. Hang in there.

Good news.I was treated with 4 treatments of carbo/ taxol the debulking surgery (got all the cancer)then 3 more chemo treatments.Side effects for me were constipation, sometimes leg aches, fatigue only the weekend after chemo treatments, sometimes a rise in temperature. All was tolerable for me.Everyday I felt good I worked my way up to 3 or more miles a day of walking. To this day I walk 3 to 5 miles a day.I believe this keeps me strong / positive while fighting this.I hope your recovery has little side effects.Keep positive people in your life as well and a good support system.Take care..

😆👍

Yes - that was what I had.

If you look at the NICE guidelines it's the standard for 1c OC, although I always felt I'd been a bit short-changed!

I found it quite tolerable but had much frustration with blood counts being too low to have the chemo and ended up having a couple of blood transfusions, so I'd recommend an iron rich diet. I did get some neuropathy and I understand that taking L-Glutamine while having the chemo can help to prevent this. It seems to be fairly standard practice in the States but then things are different there.

Don't assume you'll suffer with sickness etc. We're all different. Personally I find the anti-sickness meds worse than sickness, but I'm fortunate in never having really had a problem with it.

Good luck and I hope you're feeling a bit cheerier. The woman we were in our pre-cancer life doesn't disappear even if it can be hard to believe we're one and the same person!

Hi Coxsar, like you I got good news after second op. Ended up with high grade serous , stage 1b. I'm currently having chemo - carboplatin and taxol. Onc is monitoring me and if I start getting severe side effects like neuropathy she's going to reduce to carbo only. My chemo is also precautionary- to mop up any rough cells that might be lurking. I might be getting combination chemo due to the type of cells found. Wishing you well with your treatment. Sarahx
