Hi Ladies

Had Oncology appointment yesterday and was told that as I was Stage 1c Grade 1 I will only need to have Carboplatin now. Was originally told at first Onc appt that I was having Carbo/Taxol. Treatment starts next Tuesday. So refreshing to receive better news, feeling a whole lot lighter and brighter ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Hi Lynne and welcome, Well that is good news as Carbo on its own is fairly manageable. Just have in prunes etc in case you get constipated. Do ask for anti nausea tablets before you leave the Unit after your treatment. It is good to know that things arent as bad as feared and that the treatment isnt as severe either. It is a means to an end and the decision is as you say a no brainer. I wish you well and any help you need, please come back and ask us.

Thanks Suzuki for your advice. I must admit I found the prunes handy after my surgery! 5 weeks post-op now and feel I have turned a corner. Walking up to 3 miles a day (getting in as much as I can before chemo starts).

The stories in have read have been truely inspiring. What a lovely bunch you all are xx

That's really good news lynne, the carbo will cause increasing nausea as you so remember your drugs (we are druggies ๐Ÿ˜‚) and have loads of high fibre foods to help too. Hugs xxx

Hi Lynne-So glad you received good news about your treatment plan. I just finished chemo 3 weeks ago(Carbo/Taxol) and waiting for my CT Scan this week. Carbo is manageable, in fact they both are if the promote a cure or long remission. I had more of a negative reaction to the steroid than to the Carbo itself. Miralax and probiotics were a lot of help. Start a couple of days before your first treatment. Drink a LOT of water even if you don't feel thirsty. Keep us posted on your progress. We are all cheering you on!
