Some hope...

Hi all,

I just wanted to share my mums journey. In 2010 my mum was diagnosed was with a 12cm clear cell tumour & had a CA125 of over 2000. She was 63 at the time. We were devastated with the diagnosis as we thought this was terminal. My mum was incredibly strong, hopeful & positive but I was terrified of what our future held. I found support on these type of forums & it got us through some very difficult times. I have wanted to post this for so long to offer others hope but I still carry the anxiety of it returning one day & tempting fate.

HOWEVER, 6 years later against the odds of her being diagnosed with the most aggressive form of OC she continues in remission & last month was discharged from her gynae team.

I hope this helps, for anyone else who is free falling in fear & horror of this awful diagnosis. We are thankful everyday & I pray for all the ladies & families going through the terrible time.

Sending love to all those involved in this awful illness.

Liz

Hi Carol, yes she had a TAH, BSO, and omentectomy, this was then followed by carbotaxol chemo. She then switched gynae onc teams, as she came to live with me to recoup & the new team performed a second operation to do lymph node clearance.

Best wishes to you & your family.
