HI sometimes it can vary from onc to onc about the scans usually there is one mid way through and at the end or after the chemo finishes. Some chemos do put up your bp especially Avastin but it will return to normal when it is done or if it was bad they would send you to your gp for meds. I know we worry about stuff such as why they are doing this and not doing that but we are all different and some oncs feel it is good to scan more often and others dont because it stresses us out. I wish you the best of luck with you scan. I would ask the team if you need meds for bp and also ask why are they doing the scan now/ Maybe the Onc is going on holidays when you are done, it could be that simple
Thank you for your reply it made me smile and brought things into prespective 😃I will definitely take your advice and ask about my bp ... You have also set my mind at rest about my scan although waiting for results is the nerve wracking part 😖😖
I know it, I am like a bag of cats a few days before the scan but once its done I tend to think well I cant change the picture so hope for the best, at the moment I am stable so hoping I stay that way for another while
I have my 4th cycle of chemo on 23 Sept and then a CT scan booked for 4th Oct, then potentially two more cycles of chemo so I think it must be a fairly normal thing to have a scan part way through. Hope this puts your mind at rest.
I also have high blood pressure, my GP picked it up before I had my operation and started chemo so I'm already taking medication for it. I think it was the stress of everything that just kicked it off!!
Thank you Helen yes it certainly does set my mind at rest... My GP has been a bit slow in the uptake regarding my blood pressure so I think I will have to push on that front ... I too think it was stress as it is much more normal now still alittle high but not as high as previously.... I think that I'm not stressing out because I feel quite calm but in reality I must be.
Don't worry luv,I had high bp as soon as anyone came near me,they called it white coat hypertension, was checked constantly and I was sent to the cardio unit for checks as well,So long as you are being looked after properly don't worry and it sounds like you are,
Lol thanks so much Carole you have made me feel so much better... I jump at my own shadow sometimes... It so sets your mind at rest when some else had the same thing x
I had my last line on the 8th September but onc has not mentioned a ct scan just my ca125 level was 25 and within normal range. my last scan was in June prior to surgery to see if the disease had shrunk ready for surgery.
I will be seeing my once in six weeks time and my ca125 bloods will be checked, but totaly understand your worry, I have just started some gentle exercise and I am starting a couple of counselling sessions starting next Friday, as my mind is already thinking of reoccurrence
Thanks Ellsey... I too am thinking of recurrence I feel bloated but my ca125 is 13 and my appetite good ... I just have to accept that this will be a constant worry and need to keep it at back of our minds and be as normal as possible ... Easier said than done lol... Congratulations on last chemo and good luck with your onc visit 😍😍
