Just wanted to share with other Manchester-area people that a Maggie's Place centre will be opening at The Christie later this year - great news, I'd say!

My Maggie's centre is fantastic. Always a listening ear, a cuppa and a smile. Good information and professional support for emotional and practical issues. Complements my great medical team. Started the Where Now course last Tuesday. Helps to give me focus, motivation and keep things in perspective. Support for family members, friends, employers, in fact anyone who wants to know about any type of cancer.

Oh this is great! I'm interested to know more about the Where Now course. I'll have to see if something similar is available near me. We don't have a Maggie's here yet, but I've been going to a support centre at my community hospital and can honestly say, I don't know what I would have done without my key worker and counsellor there. Truly special people! Hope you're enjoying your weekend, Loraine! xx
Thanks for sharing and the website will be great for those living in Uk as some people seem to be at a loss how to start looking for help.
True! I only found out about a local cancer support centre (run by St Ann's Hospice) through my GP. The cancer hospital I've been going to has been great clinically, but they haven't offered much information on other forms of support -- so they really do need a Maggie's!
